Calendars: Calendar events you create on your device can be synced along with your iCloud account. Safari: iCloud syncs Safari browsing data, including your bookmarks, open tabs, and reading list between your devices. Notes: iCloud can sync notes you take in the included Notes app and make them available on the iCloud website. Keychain: iCloud Keychain is a new feature that functions as a syncing password manager for Safari on iOS and Macs. Apple also syncs other data — for example, your history of purchased apps and content, as well as your iMessage and SMS messages. Mail, Contacts, Calendar, and Tasks Sync: iCloud Control Panel can sync this information with Outlook 2007 or later. Bookmarks: Your Safari bookmarks can be synced with Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, or Google Chrome. Photos: iCloud Control Panel can automatically download photos from your iCloud Photo Stream to your PC. Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Notes, Reminders: Your data from these productivity apps can be viewed and edited on the iCloud website, so you can access to it from any PC, even one running Windows. Pages, Numbers, Keynote: The iWork apps now have web versions you can access via the iCloud website. Note that some features are only accessible on the desktop, while some are only accessible on the iCloud website.
If you find yourself running out of free iCloud space and don’t want to delete data, Apple allows you to purchase additional iCloud storage space. DID YOU KNOW?The biohazard symbol, three pairs of curved prongs layered over a circle, is a fairly recent creation; the symbol was designed by Charles Baldwin, a Dow Chemical Engineer, in 1966.
Disclaimer: Most of the pages on the internet include affiliate links, including some on this site. Videos Aren’t Included: Photo Stream doesn’t include videos, so any videos you take aren’t automatically backed up. It’s clear that iCloud’s Photo Stream isn’t designed as a long-term way to store your photos, just a convenient way to access recent photos on all your devices before you back them up for real.
If you have a Mac, you can launch iPhoto and enable the Automatic Import option under Photo Stream in its preferences pane.
If you have a Windows PC, you can install the iCloud Control Panel, which will create a Photo Stream folder on your PC. So Photo Stream is actually pretty inconvenient — or, at least, it’s just a way to temporarily sync photos between your devices without storing them long-term.

Use any of these services and you’ll get an online, automatic photo backup solution you can rely on. Apple should fix this mess and offer a better solution for long-term photo backup, especially considering the limitations aren’t immediately obvious to users.

Moreover, iCloud backup data is never safe because iCloud can be easily hacked and leaked out private photos and other data. The 73.2-megabyte download is compatible with Microsoft Windows 7 or 8, Microsoft Outlook 2007 or later or an up-to-date browser (for Mail, Contacts and Calendars), Internet Explorer 9 or later, Firefox 22 or later or Google Chrome 28 or later (for Bookmarks).
The documents and photos you may already have in iCloud will automatically download to the folders in File Explorer when you set up iCloud for Windows. Interestingly enough, Mac users are unable to use iCloud Drive on their computers as of yet because the feature requires OS X Yosemite, which is due in October. According to release notes, the utility, which sits in the Windows tray, functions much like the desktop Dropbox client.
To store a file in iCloud, simply drag it into the iCloud Drive folder on your Windows PC and the program will automatically upload content to the cloud, in the background.
The program also keeps your Internet Explorer, Firefox or Google Chrome bookmarks on Windows in sync with your Safari bookmarks. This should not be a 5 step (ten step if you double it since I have to do the same with my iPhone) process. So now I have to boot up Windows in Parallels and share the iCloud Drive folder (assuming this is possible) just to gain access to iCloud Drive in Mavericks.
Hope everyone read the fine print on System Requirements — PC users will need iTunes 12, which is still in Beta, and not due to release until OS X Yosemite.
I think it’s another of their capitalist ways of getting you to look for an app on the AppStore. Well really it should involve a downloadable app of some sort since not everyone will use iCloud Drive. This can be confusing — for example, iCloud will store your documents forever, but will delete your stored photos eventually. On a Windows PC, you can use the iCloud Control Panel to sync Safari’s bookmarks with Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Chrome. Unlike many other iCloud features, Photo Stream isn’t a permanent back up, only a temporary one. You can see which types of data are set to synchronize and choose what you want to synchronize. Apple supports so many other browsers on Windows because Safari for Windows has been discontinued. This is essential if you want to have a local back up of your photos, as photos in your Photo Stream will be automatically deleted.

This feature displays the GPS location of your device on a map and allows you to remotely lock or wipe it. If you’re just relying on iCloud to manage your important memories, your photos may not be backed up at all. Assuming your Mac is on and connected to the Internet, iPhoto will automatically download photos from your photo stream and make local backups of them on your hard drive.
But what if you actually want to automatically back up your photos online without them being deleted automatically? They’ll be easily accessible anywhere there’s a Dropbox app and you can get much more free Dropbox storage than you can iCloud storage. Flickr offers an Auto Upload feature for uploading full-size photos you take and free Flickr accounts offer a massive 1 TB of storage for you to store your photos.
You’ll get a good chunk of free space, your photos will never be automatically deleted, and you can easily access them from any device.
In the pop-up window, click Backups on the left of iCloud Storage Interface > Select the backups you don't need on the right > Click Delete > Confirm. On your Mac, choose Apple menu > click System Preference > click iCloud > click Manage at the bottom of iCloud Interface. Click Backups on the left > select the backups you want to delete on the right > click Delete > Confirm. As a bonus, you can even set up iCloud Photo Sharing with My Photo Stream, which automatically downloads the most recent photos from your iOS devices to the PC. If you want to manage what settings sync,  you can click the Apple menu, select System Preferences, and click iCloud. If your iCloud storage is full and you haven’t purchased any more storage more from Apple, your photos aren’t being backed up. You’ll then have to back up your photos manually so you don’t lose them if your Mac’s hard drive ever fails.
Full-size photos will count against your free 15 GB of Google account storage space, but you can also choose to upload an unlimited amount of photos at a smaller resolution. You won’t have to worry about storing local copies of your photos and backing them up manually.
If you don’t have those photos backed up elsewhere, you’ll lose them when you lose your phone. Therefore, it's the best option for you to delete iCloud backup files either for regaining more storage or for iCloud backup data security.
If you have 1000 photos and take one more, the oldest photo will be removed from your iCloud Photo Stream.
