Probably the most popular cloud storage solution around, Dropbox has plenty of space for your needs.
Another popular one, and something that Google Drive has over its competition is the fact that files that are done in Google Docs do not count against your standard 15GB quota. OneDrive also has Office support, however Office documents aren’t whitelisted from your storage quota. This is a service that a lot of companies actually use for sharing documents both within the company and to those outside of the company. This is a great option for those that are Amazon Prime members, as Amazon gives you unlimited storage for photos, documents and so much more. One of the smaller cloud storage options out there, Copy is also a great alternative to saving your data. In this Best Online Cloud Storage 2016 Review, we compare an established online file storage company, Amazon Cloud Drive, with a relatively new entrant to the industry, GotBackup.  Amazon’s cloud services are fast becoming one of its main businesses, almost as important as its retail business.
Amazon Cloud Drive is not yet the most popular online backup product, as the market is dominated by Dropbox and Google Drive, but it is one of the cheapest online file storage services out there. We also liked the excellent security offered by GotBackup, such as a powerful 256 bit AES encryption, which is something the biggest banks across the world provide for their internet banking services.
Amazon does not offer an affiliate program for Amazon Cloud Drive, so you can’t make any money with it. I am a freelance ERP consultant based in Bangalore, India, and double up as a freelance writer in my spare time. Before you choose the right cloud storage solution for your needs, it can help to understand the basics of the service. Cloud storage is the solution to the ever increasing demand for accessing data anywhere, from any device. Cloud is becoming an integral part of the day to day lives of businesses and households across the globe, as it allows for a more accessible, efficient, and flexible form of data storage. Cloud storage is a necessity for video files, because it secures data in ways that local storage devices can’t ever hope to achieve. The advent of 4K videos is also bringing the limitations of local storage into the limelight, with the best solution for archiving high-def videos, falling onto the shoulders of cloud storage providers. We live in the information age, a time where there’s more ways to capture videos than ever before, and the trend shows no sign of slowing down any day soon.
What’s even better, the quality of modern recording devices are producing 720p, 1080p and 4k videos — resolutions which eat up a lot of hard drive space. An equally troubling fact is that it can be a real pain to backup video content, since the file sizes tend to be gargantuan. The good news is, inexpensive cloud storage solutions provide a staggering amount of benefits, for those of us that want to protect our video content. And transferring video content to an external hard drive and deleting it from the local drive isn’t an option, because then the data isn’t truly backed up (what if the external HDD crashes?). Cloud storage provides a way to keep redundant video copies, in a place that’s free from harm and loss. It will also free up HDD space and CPU resources, while providing a way to share, sync and collaborate.
Also, let’s be honest here, making copies the old way – with DVDs and flash drives – is tedious work, screw that noise. Sharing videos via cloud storage is as easy as clicking a button, which will send a link of the video content to social media, co-workers, YouTube and friends. Furthermore, one of the problems with NAS devices, external HDDs, and other archaic storage mediums, is that they only provide limited security features.
With that disclaimer out of the way, let’s check out the best cloud storage services for videos in 2016! Video content (and any other kind as well) is protected via their end-to-end encryption, which uses AES-256 encryption, ensuring the NSA and common hackers can’t intercept and read your video data. Furthermore, they have a fantastic automatic backup feature, that keeps backing up video content securely, without the need for constant user input.

After which users can get 2TB of storage for $98 a year, there’s also a 5TB plan, for anyone who needs more storage. The service provides zero-knowledge security and also a great web app, that’s simple and easy-to use. And being a Canadian company, it’s not under the obligation to provide encryption key details to the US government. A former arch-rival to Dropbox, SugarSync provides great file and folder sharing features, complimented by strong backup features. As the name implies, they do a fantastic job when it comes to syncing, allowing users access to their files on an unlimited number of devices, so you can access up-to-date data on any device that happens to be handy. If you want to test out their service, they have a 90-day, 5GB option that is absolutely free of charge. They are also able to provide fast download and upload times, since data is encrypted locally, before being sent to their servers. Data is encrypted in transit with TLS, and then AES-256 is used to secure files once they are stored on their servers.
SugarSync really is an all-in-one provider that facilitates the ability to share files, backup data, and sync videos among all of your devices.
We also loved that fact that you can create albums directly within the mobile app, and then proceed to share that info with others.
Livedrive is basically a service designed for people who love features — lots and lots of features. In years past, Livedrive was known for being an industry failure, but they have certainly improved their service, many times over, in the past few years. Though, the service still has a lot of catching up to do with more contemporary rivals, like Backblaze and CrashPlan.
Livedrive is a competent backup service, that will securely safeguard video files, and also has a handy syncing feature. They do a great job of displaying the status of backup operations and users can even stream video content straight from their servers.
The Briefcase and Pro Suite include features that allow users to share and sync video files among multiple computers. The largest drawback is that Livedrive tends to be a bit more on the expensive side of the market. Probably the best service for video collaboration across multiple platforms, Dropbox offers a butter smooth experience– at the cost of privacy and security. Dropbox is our next top alternative for video storage, and part of the beauty of their service is that it’s so simple and easy to use.
Yet again, this likely isn’t sufficient for large video files or even medium sized ones – it is merely a way to test out the service risk-free. In all reality, for video content, users will likely need the paid version of their service.
But remember, Dropbox is an NSA friendly service and has full access to the content of its customers’ account, we do not recommend the service to privacy conscious users. If on the off-chance a user accidentally deletes a video file, there’s no need to worry since they keep a backup copy for 30 days. Dropbox uses  a “shared folder” mechanism that makes the syncing process completely painless – allowing users to sync videos with an unlimited number of devices. Probably a no brainer for fans of the Google eco-system, Google Drive is essentially a cheaper alternative to Dropbox, with the added bonus of Google Docs. Thanks to its brilliant sharing features, a painless drag and drop feature via the desktop app, and the ability to sync video files to any number of computers — with a single Google account. Despite being based in the US, a fact that could leave users at the mercy of the NSA, Google is used across million of computers to share and collaborate on work and media files. Users can try their service for free, with 15GB of storage, and the starting price for the paid service is a measly $1.99 per month for 100GB of storage.
Though, it’s prudent to keep in mind that they aren’t exactly an online backup solution, since users can’t schedule backups. Google Drive really does provide a complete collaboration environment, that’s large, fast, easy-to-use and very cheap indeed. However, it’s still not a good option for pro-privacy users, though it does provide decent security in general. Video content has become so ubiquitous, that most users can benefit from using the best cloud storage, to secure and store it. Instead of letting video files bog down your local machine and max out a hard drive, take advantage of cloud storage. Of course, figuring out which particular company will best serve your needs, is a decision only you can make.
We strongly recommend checking out full reviews of each one, taking them up on their free trial periods and offers, and then it’s time to make a commitment.

While most of the businesses are moving towards the cloud mainly to cut costs, there are companies that are trying to bring something new to the table with the help of cloud technology. ADrive's 50GB free accounts are going to be cut from the program on November 16th, essentially forcing customers who use that plan to either pay up and upgrade to premium, or simply transfer their data to another provider. Yunio is here to answer the calls of all those who need massive storage for free, with 1 TB of free data on offer, the Chinese company is posing a serious threat to more miserly Western cloud companies. It offers all the features that Dropbox gives you, such as unlimited online backup – which it sells for a very affordable price.

The best part is, nobody has the permission to view your data on GotBackup, not even the top management at the company.
But you can make money with GotBackup as GVO Inc, the company behind it, offers a lucrative affiliate program to go with the product. Armed with this knowledge, you will be able to browse the myriad of different options available to you and choose the one that best fits with your individual circumstances.
In other words, a cloud storage service is a place to keep copies of your most important and sensitive documents by storing them in data centers that contain hundreds of servers for storage. Hackers grow bolder every day and are constantly inventing new ways to circumvent your security, throwing viruses at your computer. Because the back-up versions are not located in the same place as the originals, they can’t be affected by a fire in your building and can’t be stolen by those thieves. You can use this option to share your holiday photographs with your spouse or work on a database with your colleagues – and all of you can do so from any location, using any device that can connect to the internet and open the relevant files.
