Windows Azure Pack is a collection of Windows Azure technologies, available to Microsoft customers at no additional cost for installation into your data center.
The Windows Azure Pack is basically a framework which offers you to build several offerings for customers.
VM Cloud – This is an infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) offering which allows customer to deploy and manage Windows and Linux Virtual Machines including VM Template, scaling and Virtual Networking options. Service Bus – a service that provides reliable messaging services between distributed applications.
Automation and Extensibility – the capability to automate and integrate additional custom services into the services framework, including a runbook editor and execution environment. On top of this Windows Azure Pack offers two management portals, one for tenants and one for administrators which are build on top of the Service Management API. The Service Management API is a RESTful API which allows you build some custom scenarios such as custom portals or billing integrations on top of the Azure Pack framework. In the last months I had time to work within several different project with the integration of Windows Azure Pack, mainly with the VM Cloud and automation integration and also some work with the Service Management API and some customization together with Stefan Johner and Fulvio Ferrarini from itnetx.
If you are looking for some good blogs around Windows Azure Pack you should definitely checkout the blogs from Marc van Eijk, Hans Vredevoort and Kristian Nese or the Windows Azure Pack Wiki on TechNet. Today, many businesses choose to host some or all of their applications in the cloud – such as HR and CRM systems.
Public Clouds, such as those provided by Amazon, Microsoft and Google, are owned by the provider and made available to the general public. Private Clouds are managed by a third-party organisation and are tailored for a client based on their specific needs.
There is an increased level of security since a private cloud can only be accessed by the designated people in the organisation. You also have more control with a public cloud as you can control what it looks like and how it is used. You don’t have to worry about maintenance as this is carried out by the provider, ensuring performance stays high. A private cloud solution can be more costly at first due to high upfront costs due to the specific nature of their design. Gaining access to your data from anywhere in the world is not as straightforward as when using the public cloud. Our private cloud solution is a fully managed, customisable infrastructure, based in our Irish data centre, providing a dedicated, secure, virtualised hosting solution. Founded in 2005, Action Point provides IT and Software Development services across Ireland, Europe and the USA.
We design and implement a full range of IT Services from outsourced helpdesk and support to advanced monitoring and preventative maintenance to complex infrastructure solutions.
Azure RemoteApp Hybrid Collections are great when you need to publish a custom set of applications that run in a domain-joined environment and have access to on-premises resources over a Site-to-Site VPN. In this post, I'll show you how you can meet these requirements without ever having to touch your on-premises environment. First, I'm not going to replicate all the steps for setting up a Hybrid Collection with Azure RemoteApp. Take a look at the article Configuring Active Directory for Azure RemoteApp for information on setting up Azure Active Directory and Windows Server Active Directory infrastructure to work with Azure RemoteApp.

Azure RemoteApp supports both Directory Sync with Password Sync and Directory Sync with Single Sign-On directory integration scenarios. NOTE: Since publishing this post, the Microsoft Remote Desktop Services team has simplified the process for creating and uploading a custom template image directly from Azure. Spin up a new Azure Virtual Machine based on the latest Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter image. Once the VHD file has finished copying, follow the steps outlined in the article mentioned above.
At this point, you'll have a custom template image uploaded into your Azure RemoteApp image library.
Instead of configuring the Azure RemoteApp environment to connect back to an on-premises Domain Controller using a Site-to-Site VPN Connection, we're going to use a VNet-to-VNet connection to a Domain Controller running on an Azure Virtual Machine connected to a Virtual Network. On the DC VNet, create a Local Network that references the RemoteApp VNet IP address range. For the Virtual Network Address Space, specify the same IP address range that you used for the Local Network on the DC VNet. Go back to the DC VNet and update the Local Network with the Azure Gateway IP Address from the RemoteApp VNet. If everything is configured properly then the VNet-to-VNet connection should show as connected on the DC VNet Dashboard page. The data center means a centralized location rendered that delivers resources and essential telecommunications such as, servers, database, devices, storage systems, access networks, software and applications.
The real importance of the data centers lies in the fact that the welfare and security of the human beings is associated with data centers.
Data centers offer us the higher level of security, peculiarly, to those who are serving in the field of financial services and other essential services. If we look few years back, then we will find that the data centers were merely recognized as the real monsters of the environment with reference to its excess of power consumption and of course the high operating and maintaining cost. Any failure or break in the data centers would forbid us from sending even a minor query in Google, as the giant portal posses more than 700 trillions of pages of information on numerous number data centers across the globe. NVIDA just announced the availability of their GRID 2.0 GPU compute platform for data-centers a few weeks ago, and now Microsoft is going to make use of that turn-key infrastructure for their Azure cloud platform. Azure is Microsoft’s cloud compute platform, something that can be setup to be a companies server and computational assets for anything from hosting an Exchange server to even letting users log-in to virtual desktops to do work, eliminating the need for a local hardware lifecycle. Though GRID servers have been available, they’ve sort of been a novelty and not necessarily a selling point for many cloud providers. If only there was a free trial of their new GRID 2.0 enabled virtual desktop to test the compute capabilities with some distributed computing projects. At the beginning of last year Microsoft made this step by releasing Windows Azure Services for Windows Server and together with Windows Server, Hyper-V and System Center you could build your own Windows Azure.
It runs on top of Windows Server 2012 R2 and System Center 2012 R2 and, through the use of the Windows Azure technologies, enables you to offer a rich, self-service, multi-tenant cloud, consistent with the public Windows Azure experience.
The Web Sites service includes a customizable web application gallery of open source web applications and integration with source control systems for custom-developed web sites and applications. I will write some blog post about Windows Azure Pack, the stuff we have done and we are doing right now.

Access to a private cloud is limited to the organisation and it can be either owned, operated and managed by the organisation, a third party or a combination of both, and can exist on or off premises. With this option an organisation can choose to run some applications on the public cloud while leaving others within the private cloud. Our in-house expertise, coupled with partnerships with leading cloud technology providers, allows s us to custom build a cloud solutions that creates true value for your business. Our team is highly skilled in delivering business solutions that utilise the latest technologies and which service a wide variety of industries. The role of data centers is very crucial for our lives as they are regarded as the most effective and efficient source of providing us: Internet, energy, telecommunications, transport, public health, urban traffic entertainment and in fact our physical unity is controlled by the data centers. A common man is no where concerned with it, however big organizations and public institutions have a responsibility to look upon the welfare of the society and country as a whole. For Example, Banks need to check that whether there is an efficient continuity of services, and want to decreases the risk of interruption and blackouts to almost negligible.
Use it to handle encoding of videos, computing Pi to 20 Quadrillion, or anything you could dream of. Certainly one can price out and build custom servers using any manner of components, but this helps to provide a level of support and compatibility that might be beneficial to enterprise customers. Like us, tweet to us or +1 us, to keep up with our round the clock updates, reviews, guides and more. With the R2 wave of System Center and Windows Server, Microsoft also renamed Windows Azure Services for Windows Server to Windows Azure Pack (wow what a great idea ;-)) and added some great new functionality to the product it self.
Windows Azure Pack is not just made for hoster and service providers, it is also a great solution for enterprises, check out why by reading Michael Rueeflis blog. Work as a Cloud Architect for itnetX, a consulting and engineering company located in Switzerland. The applications which contain more sensitive information or are resource rich can stay behind the private cloud and applications such as email can be hosted in the public cloud. Our professional services team are happy to assist you in figuring out what would best suit your business – talk to us today. Permissions beyond the scope of this license may be available on the Terms and Conditions page. I am focused on Microsoft Technologies, especially Microsoft Cloud & Datacenter solutions based Microsoft System Center, Microsoft Virtualization and Microsoft Azure. Unlike desktop apps – web apps don’t need to be installed directly onto your computer, so you don’t have to maintain and install costly hardware and applications, saving you both money and time.
A hybrid cloud solution allows a company to utilise the type of resource best suited to each specific task or application.
Now, they are available with four time’s greater processing capacity, and also they occupy only 40% of the space.
