Learn and engage in collaborative design thinking methods through our exciting, new summer course. Open to students of all undergraduate disciplines, design thinking will be taught in partnership between the UT College of Architecture and Design and the Anderson Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation of the University of Tennessee College of Business Administration. This course will provide an introduction to design thinking and innovation for all undergraduate students from all majors. Our course is designed to promote a person centred approach to Social Care and Health Practitioners' work. Current national policies around Personalisation require employers to provide more flexible and individualised care and support. This develops an organisational culture which values and empowers people, respecting them as individuals and promoting their rights, dignity, choice, aspirations, independence and overall wellbeing.
Purpose: To help people with learning disabilities and their families and carers to plan for the future.
Activities: Remembering the past, coping with change, keeping healthy and active, looking at services for older adults and planning with families for the future. Purpose: To provide a means to socialise with peers in a supported environment and within the local community. Activities: Sourcing information, researching, writing, interviewing, taking pictures, using the internet and using the phone.

Purpose: To maintain and develop communication between members and the PUSH Board of Directors. Activities: collecting and discussing ideas with fellow members and attending board meetings to represent the views discussed.
Activities: Sourcing information and prizes, designing posters and tickets, using the phone, writing letters.
PUSH are looking at working in partnership with schools and other agencies to facilitate a project which addresses transition skills for young adults with learning difficulties as they move from high school to the work place. Person Centred Planning is a process of planning for individuals based on the principle of inclusion where the focus person is in control and is central to the process. This course covers supporting the people you work with to have a voice in creating their own future opportunities. We each encounter some form of care everyday whether it is at home, in the community or in hospitals, regardless of the role had within the care sector the outcome is always rewarding.
The course will be conducted over 1 day and a Certificate of Completion will be awarded at the end of the course.
