Also, there is to note that \displaystyle can achieve this -> \[ \int \], if you do not want the math to be centered alone on page.
I'm aware of three packages that will let you create larger integral signs: bigints, mtpro2, and relsize.
The package bigints provides the following commands to scale up the symbol produced by \int: \bigintssss, \bigintsss, \bigintss, \bigints, and \bigint. None of these packages seems to do a great job placing the lower and upper limits of integration.
The bigints package can produce five large variants for \oint as well, but (again AFAICT) not for double, triple, surface, slashed, etc. I have recently (May 2014) discovered that the bigints package doesn't seem to be compatible with the lmodern package, in the sense that the macros of the bigints pacakge don't generate "large" integral symbols if the lmodern package is loaded as well.
It might be worth adding, that if the \limits command is used, it has to put in the correct place.
In reference to barbara beeton's comment on the accepted answer, the limits with this approach will not scale with the integral size. Not the answer you're looking for?Browse other questions tagged math-mode symbols or ask your own question.
Why do many countries in the world still require citizens of states with a high HDI to get visas?
Would it be rude to ask a famous professor who doesn't know me personally for a recommendation letter if I have published in a high ranking journal? There is a Unicode symbol U+2107 "Euler Constant" that at least looks like an uppercase variant of \varepsilon. Thanks, this should be the accepted answer because you don't have to jump through hoops. The letter is available in the T4 encoding for African languages, which is not very widespread: in the standard TeX distributions, only the CMR family is supported. On the other hand, several OpenType or TrueType fonts have the glyph, precisely U+0190 LATIN CAPITAL LETTER OPEN E, rendered ?. However the T4 encoded font is only available as bitmap and you might need to increase the default resolution (which is 600dpi) and creation mode for METAFONT.

The original question was posted on stackoverflow, where I have even put a bounty on it to no avail. Update: There was a feature request to give the different kinds of section tags unique tags so that be given different sizes.
You can create multiple setting items to target different items, if you want multiple scopes to share the same size you can separate the scopes with a comma in the scope field.

How can I increase the base font size to 14pt in standard letter class using xelatex for ease of reading for presbyopic people?
You can use the Scale option, but you need to reset the main font; instead of Latin Modern you can use whatever font you want.

Paz de la Huerta in a latex leotard, red stockings and a glove while riding a syringe on the poster of Nurse 3D. I am trying with no success to create text using bold small caps for the Latin Modern Roman font.
I found that because there is no bold small caps font included in LMR, I could not make bold small caps right away. As my document is all set up for using fontspec I cannot get the second solution to work and the first solution has a severe problem of its own, which can be seen in "open type small" as the blocky looking text. So I had two ideas, one was to look for a font with bold small caps, (which I found called Trajan Pro). The second solution which is what I really want to try is to make latex automatically increase the font size of the first letter in every word.
At the end of the day I need this to work with titlesec to define subsubsections and the like. The textile fiber blend latex, which is glued in the inner half of the ball, also helps to keep the ball shape. If you typeset integrals inline they end up smaller than if you typeset them as display math mode, e.g.
However, its "lite" subset (which is all that's needed to use the prefix commands \xl, etc.) is free. A reasonable positioning of the lower limit of integration, in particular, will require inserting either several "negative thinspace" (\!) directives -- the larger the integral symbol, the more \!
So using \mathop{\mathlarger{\int\limits_t}} looks much better than \mathop{\mathlarger{\int}}\limits_t when using the relsize package, for example.
The integral symbol used by your macros appears to be the small one from inline-math, which is noticeably more upright than the displaystyle-math integral symbol. So should one use u+2107 or rather u+0190 in math cases, where the Euler constant is not meant? I would not have figured that out as I was looking in the Latex bundle and trying to customize it that way. The whole manner in which fonts are handled in TeX really confuses me, so my knowledge on any commands and ways to manipulate it are limited to \textit, \textbf, \scshape, \bfseries, the size commands, and \setmainfont. The mtpro2 package, while providing "only" three large variants of \int (I'm disregarding the \XXXL-prefix variant!), can produce large variants of \iint, \iiint, \oiint, \oiiint, \barint, \slashint, and clockwise- and counterclockwise-oriented line integrals. Since one would expect (or at least hope!!) that large integral symbols will be used only in display math settings, could you revise your code to use the larger symbols? In case of trademark issues please contact the domain owner directly (contact information can be found in whois). Similarly, the \mathlarger command of the relsize package can be applied to any operator symbol -- including \iint, \iiint, etc. A separate suggestion: Instead of using \raisebox to adjust the position of the integral symbol, could you use \vcenter and let TeX do the job of centering the symbol vertically?
