Here's a free printable emergency supply list, with a checklist of items necessary for an emergency preparedness kit for three days.
This list is designed to be used in conjunction with the Create An Emergency Preparedness Kit Challenge, which is one of the 52 Week Organized Home Challenges here on the site. Below are the emergency supplies you need to stock for a three day period, which is really the minimum amount of time you should be prepared for. This includes making sure things like the batteries have been replaced with fresh ones, that degradable products, like the chlorine bleach, are still within their limits, and things like clothing still fit (especially important for growing kids).

A good way to do this regularly is to check and update the supplies both at the beginning and end of Daylight Saving Time, twice a year. Some links on this page are affiliate links, meaning that if you purchase a product through them I receive a small commission which helps me provide this information to you for free, plus support my family. You must replace your emergency supplies of water and food when they reach their expiration dates.
Or in an emergency, you can use it to treat water by using 16 drops of regular household liquid bleach per gallon of water.
