The oversize cards in Tarot Affirmations, this 78 card deck, have small Universal-Waite images, drawn by Mary Hanson-Roberts, inset next to five positive affirmations. Tarot Affirmations is an attractive set of 78 large-size cards featuring five positive statements - or affirmations - for self-transformation alongside an illustrative image from the Universal Waite Tarot. Positive affirmations can be an effective tool to help change negative thought processes and habits into more beneficial, productive structures.
My name is Kate Hill (also known as Solandia) and I'm a Tarot reader, deck collector, and lifelong student of the beauty and diversity of Tarot cards.
I created Aeclectic in 1996 to share my passion for Tarot with the world, and I've added 1600 decks over the years.
In this deck, Sally Hill combines two traditions for personal transformation - the tarot and affirmations.
Affirmations also stimulate the unconscious to provide us with creative ways to achieve our desires.

These are the closest clones to the Rider-Waite, since they use the line drawings from those cards as their starting point.
Which is how these cards began: as affirmations on plain index cards for the author's own use, through a personally challenging time. Hill has written a series of meditations on selected affirmations from the Tarot Affirmations deck. Sally Hill, a psychologist and psychotherapist specialising in dreamwork, spirituality and creativity, designed these cards to "help restore balance, resolve conflict, draw on neglected or undeveloped strengths, and find solutions to life's challenges". Hill believes that through the tarot we can receive messages from the unconscious and through affirmations we can send messages back.
By working with affirmations, we begin to direct the creative power of both our conscious and unconscious minds in positive and constructive ways.
The affirmations in this deck are always positive, even when the card is a challenging one.

This card reminds us of the positive role fantasy can play in building the motivation to achieve our desires.
A sample for the 7 of Swords is "I am seeking a solution to a threat that appears to be beyond my control." Each card shows the card's name in the upper left.
One of life's challenges is learning to use fantasy effectively without becoming so lost in a dream world that we fail to accomplish our goals. Despite its size, the Tarot Affirmations deck can be used as a regular deck for readings with suggested interpretations printed on each card. This deck is also a tool for learning the cards and as a source of positive reinforcement and guidance.
