Orange - this is the medium level of difficulty for children who are becoming more confident and working at the expected level in 2nd grade. Purple - this is the hardest level for children who are nearly ready for 3rd grade math, or need that extra challenge. At 2nd Grade children also learn to solve simple addition and subtraction problems and work out the answers mentally or on paper. Children are also introduced to mutiplication and division at this stage, and also the fraction 'half'.
