If you know anything about me and you read the title of this podcast episode, you are probably wondering what they did with your dear friend Leslie. In this unscripted episode, I share some of the things I’ve been thinking about when it comes to the reason why I want to make a lot of money with my Online Business. My hopes for this episode is that you listen, are inspired, and then become determined to do something HUGE! Some people just love being able to read along with interviews, or they might just prefer to skip the audio completely and just read through the transcript. I share tips and strategies that I’ve learnt building blogs since 2008 and interview experts who are knowledgable about various aspects of blogging so that we can learn from their experiences.
If you’re a blogger, thinking about becoming a blogger (pun intended) or are not even sure if blogging is right for you, go ahead and tune in to see what this blogging thing is all about. There is nothing wrong or to be ashamed of from wanting to make money, it doesn’t compromise any message at all.
The way the world works is the people who work hard make a living, no matter what you are doing: building houses, studying medicine, or even blogging. I think when I talk about my journey and part of it is the income and expenses, I think the journey part of the message gets lost, I think you might be better at conveying it than I am because for me it has NEVER been about the money for me, I had a great job before I became a full time blogger, it’s about building and growing a business which has changed lives. I like where you are going with this and it makes perfect sense, of course anything I can do to help. Charity begins at home and Leslie I love how you and your wife are on the same page and your vision is huge and so-doable. I noticed that you mentioned that this is a far off dream … I would like to say that yes some of the things you mentioned will be long term but there is a lot you can accomplish now. Up until last year there were times when we would have over 70 students in our home (yes I did say 70) at one time! When I heard this question I used to think, no way is someone going to give me a concise straightforward answer on how this can be done. Actually I think there is a paradox- all of us know how to make money, yet very few of us actually go out and do it. The problem is that someone else can see you doing this, and very easily set up a stand and do the exact same thing, taking your profits.
But what if you had a SPECIAL type of drink that could quench thirst better than any of the other drinks available at a much lower cost?

Don’t worry, the only thing that has changed is that my dreams about changing the world have become bigger than ever.
No, not one of those blogs that will fall by the wayside when Google has a mood swing, but one that will thrive no matter what gets thrown at it. Ask any billionaire and they will tell you, they aren’t smarter or luckier than anyone else, they just work harder. It’s been great being on this journey with you from day one when we had no idea what blogs were, lol.
I’d like to ask you what made you thought that I was starting to be just like all the other bloggers out there? Many in the Christian world have turned their backs on prosperity and I think this is wrong. As you know I live right down the road from you and we have been having students over to our house for more than 5 years now. Because many times we think we need to start only when we have something big, but these kids are really searching for somewhere to belong and if you show them that they will flock to you. Yes, some are long term goals, but some can start now and that’s exactly what we plan on doing. I can’t say I know exactly what the future will hold, but I look forward to seeing how it all comes together. I completely APPRECIATED the off-the-cuff nature of this episode, it was refreshing and obviously from the heart.
I believe it’s very worthy of your effort and an even greater way you can impact lives.

This is what separates those who make enough money to get by, and those who make a decent sum of cash. Uber has access to data and can process that data with an algorithm that no one else can match. Recently, I have noticed an up tick in the number of people searching for ways to make money on the internet. To this day, I receive positive emails regarding this post so it’s a great place to start.
It adds 10 additional ways to make money online including video submissions, getting paid to write a blog post, etc. I say it is interesting because it seems to be a huge public forum that you get paid to contribute to.
They have written for the LA Times, The Washington Post, President Bill Clinton's White House, Forbes, and more. I know we need money and brokenness is never appealing, but I love that our focus should be to add positivity into the world. I firmly believe that we can accomplish so much more if we are willing to do the hard work that allows us to prosper and then use that prosperity to change lives. I was excited to hear what is being placed on your heart about helping young people and having a vision for doing it through your home. None of the other apps have such a good pricing algorithm and it is difficult for them to make one without a huge investment both in physical and human capital. Do customers want this, can I charge a price higher than costs and will someone else be able to enter and steal my customers. However I think there are some other more important barriers that are more of a personal and individual nature.
I am sure this has a lot to do with the holiday season and many people looking for a quick way to make a few bucks. It contains sites including the basics such as Adsense all the way through getting paid to review software. When you think of the ways you are all ready contributing to forums on the internet, this may be a way to collect something for your [cough] addiction.
It isn’t about the BMW, Mercedes or Winter home in the Caribbean, it is about being able to be the best that you can be, and if that goal is changing the world, than making the biggest and best changes you can make, unfortunately at some point in the process there will be expenses, not everyone shares the same vision. I don’t plan for that ever to happen and I want to be able to continue empowering others.
I have to confess that for a while I thought you were starting to be just like all the other bloggers out there,…. I definitely don’t think you need a mansion for people to come over and feel at home. You my friend are a great example of living what you believe and sharing that message through your deeds. After all internet and books are all full with the same information but it is how people approach chances, their personal attitude towards everything and many other inner factors. If your blog has been around for more than 3 months and it has a decent Pagerank, it may be worth checking out.
I want to build an organization that makes it possible for people to support their families.
I was at the moment blogging about the music (hip-hop) industry and Christian hip-hop ministry, which deals with a lot of youth.
I think some people would but the reality of it is being broke and homeless just doesn’t sound appealing when there is an alternative and there is work being done to achieve the alternative.
This episode of the podcast plus a recent one I heard on with Dan Miller have inspired me to begin praying and working toward those things. But I was led by God to take another direction into a subject of Fatherhood, Husbandhood, and Leadership in the home. The people need it, water is pretty cheap and you can sell it to them for more than how much you bought it.
If you need some money – there is no harm in asking the blog owner of your favorite blogs if you could write a few articles.
So I am in the works of putting together a new business, ministry, blogs, podcasts, and videos to go with it.
Now, the conflict has turned to publishing, and icons like Seth Godin are saying writers might not deserve to get paid anymore:Who said you have a right to cash money from writing? Unfortunately it was not a good time for us as my wife was pregnant at the time as we were thinking of cutting back during this time. I’ve written more than 4000 blog posts for free.Poets don’t get paid (often), but there’s no poetry shortage. The future is going to be filled with amateurs, and the truly talented and persistent will make a great living.

Certainly, most of the thousands of writers throughout history haven’t made much money at the business.
So now that we may be going back to that state, it forces you to ask yourself about your motivations. Why do you write?Do you write to make money? Do you write to get famous?Do you think you might pull a John Locke or Amanda Hocking or Stephen King or James Patterson? It’s possible. Not only do I want to be a bestseller, not only do I want to be famous and make a little money, I’d like to be read for hundreds of years. I feel like a fool.Because the truth is one or two writers of my generation might get that honor. Most of us not only will not go down in history, we won’t make a single dollar to make up for all our incredibly hard work.So is it worth it? What if we decided it was enough to transform the life of one reader. And that one reader might be you. It feeds me.So my question for you is, would you write if you knew you were never going to make any money at writing, would you stop?
Join us and get the training, accountability, and encouragement you need to virtually guarantee you’ll finish your book. I think as my kids leave the pre-school age it will free up more focused writing time and I will begin to make progress. But even if I just leave a legacy for my children and touch a life here and there, that gives me joy. My parents wrote down some things (because we asked them to) and I love to go over it and over it. Donna BarkerWow… that put the image of a giant spider in my mind, immediately followed by the urge to RUN AWAY! I’d like to add to your advice:Put on your best stomping boots, move in the direction of fear and get it out!I can do that! And then there’s the risk of a bruised (or beaten) ego and having people read your work and not like it.
I write because there are so many idiots in the world that will benefit from my carefully chosen words. I publish to make money, occasionally, not enough to worry the IRS, enough for pencils and a legal pad now and then.
Partly because this desire to be a genius is paralyzing. However, I do think that more than one or two from our generation could enter the canon. Think of the Romantics: Wordsworth, Coleridge, Byron, Shelley, Keats, born within 25 years of each other. When microwave ovens first came out, they were publishing cookbooks for how to make all the same foods in them.
That didn’t take off (have you ever roasted a turkey in the microwave?) but no one had imagined TV dinners. The interview was about e-books, and how very little has been done yet to harness the unique potential of this media; most e-books are just regular books and I think even the enhanced ones are still just books with other things tacked on.
What about the Nobel Prize in literature, to have thousands, hundreds of thousands, crying when they read … or running out the door shouting hallelujah.
I stood at eye level with the shelves of the cabinets, and pretended that I lived among the porcelain figures in their shimmering home.
I wasn’t allowed to touch the cabinets because of fingerprints, but I loved to just stand there holding my hands behind my back. In it, he mentioned that everyone’s calling is to subdue creation and have dominion, that is control it and turn it into something of benefit..
My limited brain immediately brought to mind the example of musicians taking jumbles of notes and making beautiful music and artists taking color and line and making picturesque, museum-quality artwork. Later, when my friend and I were out running, I jokingly said we were subduing the creation that was our bodies and making fit beings out of them. A few steps and labored breaths later, I realized my joke was true (some of my most profound statements often start off as joke).
It made me start thinking of other ways I could subdue creation and make something beneficial. One of the problems with being single is not having someone readily available to bounce off ideas.
They wind up jumbled into a giant knot that weighs me down, ties me up and restrains me where I’m unable to move. Hundreds, maybe thousands of stray notes have been stuffed in there with no order, causing me distress and confusion.Perhaps writing more would give me an outlet, a manner by which I could subdue the thousands of thoughts that crowd my mind and maybe uncover something beautiful. At the very least, my mind would be decluttered and cleaned up and maybe not weigh me down with the junk of sad and desperate thoughts.
