I don't generally go for this sort of game because it is, for all intents and purposes, a freemium game which means that it's free to play but the deeper you get into it, the more likely you'll have to pay - and pay a lot - in order to achieve a new level or purchase a new item. Like most other games of this type you can earn money and gems as you play, but I can see that it isn't going to be fast enough, especially for the gems, and pretty soon the lure of the credit card in-app purchase may beckon. So if you're going to give this game a try and you're on a tight budget - and I strongly urge you to do so - make sure you disable in-app purchases on your device, especially if you're going to hand the game over to your child who may not realise they're spending real money as they play.
If you don't know how to do this, start by going to the Settings app, tap on General and select Restrictions. You find yourself in a courtyard with stalls on the right and outside living quarters on the left, and in the middle is your clumsy ninja.
You do this by giving him tasks to perform and you're helped in realising what to do thanks to the task diary, lower left of the interface which tells you what to do next (although you're also free to experiment as you please). As you level up, you earn different coloured belts as you'd expect from a martial arts game, and your ninja becomes less clumsy.
The more you use a particular equipment the more adept he becomes at it, until he's mastered that device. Of course, there's many ways to spend your rare gems: you can purchase new outfits or buy equipment before they get unlocked by levelling up. Also the more you level up the more equipment is made available for you to keep on training your ninja and keep the interest going. Aside from training, your ninja is on the lookout for Kira, his friend who mysteriously disappeared.
The app description promises you'll venture beyond the courtyard, you'll be visiting new places, and interact with characters, but I haven't reached that part yet, and who knows how much money you'll be tempted to spend to get to it?
The definitive Clumsy Ninja guide: How to gain XP faster, train smarter, and earn your next belt in no time!
The easiest thing you can do in order to earn XP and level up to different belts quicker is train. Alternately, you can always just wait it out and let Sensei repair the item for you after a certain period of time. You always have the ability to unlock items with gems, even if you haven't reached the level necessary to use coins yet.
Long story short, save gems for things you really need, not for something you can simply cash in coins for in just a few short levels. For some reason, popping balloons gives you a ridiculous amount of XP, with the exception of the Fiery balloon. If you're looking to level up faster, balloons are a relatively cheap and easy way to do it. I've used the balloon method when a level is going slow and an item I really want to unlock is right within my grasp in the next level. Since you have to wait for Sensei to repair things each time you use them, it's a good idea to make sure you use all the items and get all the XP and coins you can before closing the game. Sure you could just keep popping blue balloons all day and level up fast, but don't mix up leveling up and belts. It's the way the game is supposed to be played so unless your goal is simply to level us as quickly as possible, complete the quests.

Again, it's worth it if you're using coins but using gems takes a heck of a lot longer to recoup your investment.

With the help of Sensei, you'll guide this clumsy ninja through quests, earn XP, train, and play together. And now here are the ways for us to know what we should do to gain more XP, coins and diamonds. Actually, the daily bonuses are great for giving you some nice extra money in Clumsy Ninja, so make sure you don’t skip a day – you want all those great rewards for your ninja! This one is pretty obvious,  you need to complete missions in order to progress through the game and level up fast.
You can follow us on Twitter or join our Facebook fanpage to keep yourself updated on all the latest on Android. You can touch him, tickle him, give him a high five, take him by the hand (or foot), lift him up in the air, drag him on the ground, throw him, and he always comes back for more.
I've only reached level 9 and already you can see a difference in the way he bounces on the trampoline or hits the punch bag (both of which you have to hold in order for your ninja to practise on - it's very much a team effort).
When that happens, you'll still be able to earn experience from using it, but you'll no longer earn money, forcing you to move on to bigger, more expensive equipment. Once you've used a particular equipment, you have to wait before you it's ready to be selected again. If you have an option between paying in coins or gems, always choose the coin option first.
Coins are easy enough to get that there really isn't too much of a reason to buy them with real money, unless you're super impatient.
This way you aren't wasting any hard earned coins or gems getting repairs that can happen on their own while the game is closed.
Even if you don't have time to play Clumsy Ninja that day, pop in just long enough to collect your daily bonuses. Have you spent real money or are you sticking to the story line in order to work your way through the game? The game is quite simple with the background story of a ninja on a mission to find his girlfriend, Kira.
These are rarely found in the game (though still more often than in most free-to-play games). Put him to bed at night and wake him up in the morning, no matter you treat him as a pet or friend, it is just so adorable!Get to 7 days in a row and you can collect 1,000 coins in one go. So always keep an eye on the requirements, complete them and get a nice XP boost for your clumsy ninja. You can of course use gems in order to acquire them quicker but it isn't really worth it.

Just make sure it's not the same as the one you use to unlock your device (you have that set up as well, right?), then turn "In-App Purchases" off. It's an amazing piece of programming; his reactions feel totally human and it's easy to forget you're dealing with a computerised character.
Then you can get him to attack crates, make him jump through hoops (literally), and deflect watermelon attacks, among others. The more advanced it is, the more it'll earn your ninja experience, but the longer you'll have to wait before it's ready again. Since you can accumulate coins a heck of a lot quicker, you won't miss them nearly as much.
As stated in tip 3, gems accumulate very slow and if you use them to unlock something that you can get with your earned coins in just a few levels, it's most likely worth the wait.
If you're struggling to level up or are getting impatient with a specific task, start popping balloons. Not to mention, quests are a very easy way to accumulates coins, and in some instances, gems too. Some items are better for gaining XP than others, and you can use the Items section of this guide for further information on the most economical way to do this. You generally earn coins for completing training tasks and quests, but you also earn them once you have reached Level 10 and unlocked animals. You use Diamonds to speed up any of the actions in the game, such as repairing items or even completing quests. I typically recommend against this as there are other things that your coins and gems are better spent on. Finally, you will also earn Coins by logging into the game every day and receiving the Daily Bonus that comes with it. They are earned mainly from leveling up, though you can also get them occasionally as part of Daily Bonuses or through promotions - such as linking the game to your Facebook account.
You can also tweet and watch a video to skip the waiting time, but you can only do this once per day, so use them wisely. Whenever you can use them for training, make sure you do so you accumulate as much XP as you can, as fast as you can. Don't forget, as with all these sorts of games, you can purchase Coins using real money if you really want to get ahead.
