Loksound select micro manual, trains from new york to washington dc,usa model train manufacturers, holiday train set electric - Step 2

Quite possibly the world’s smallest 4 function DCC sound decoder, the LokSound Select Micro decoder was designed for those who need a tiny but POWERFUL solution to their model railroading needs! The LokSound Select can be used on conventional “analog” layouts and controlled with a DC power pack, but to benefit from all its features, we highly recommend  operation on a DCC system.
Synchronized brake squeal: The LokSound Select will synchronize the brake squeal sound with the real movement of the locomotive.
Manual notching: The diesel speed steps can be either manually controlled by function keys or automatically based on the speed. Steam decoders can produce over 20 sound effects, including the bell, air pump, exhaust chuff, coupler, steam release, cylinder cocks, brake release, side rod clank, blower, injector, Fireman Fred and many more. Diesel decoders can produce over 20 sound effects, including the engine start-up and shutdown, prime mover sounds through all eight notches, bell, air horn, air compressor, dynamic brakes, fans, brake squeals, coupling and uncoupling, detector sounds, rail clank and many more. Unlike other manufacturers, LokSound Select offers you two options to customize your engine.
You may at any time use the LokSound Programmer to download new sounds into the LokSound Select.
If you are using coreless or conventional DC motors, the LokSound Select’s unique auto-detection function can measure the characteristics and adjust the internal settings. Each LokSound Select includes outputs with 0.25A current each that can be allocated individually to a light effect, which simulates the light patterns of many popular warning beacons. The Rule 17 dimmable headlight can be either controlled automatically or by function button. Accordingly, We believe that when you decide to go to Command Control that you do so with the least anxiety, the best support, the most security and choose a system that you decide is best for you. ShareThisI am attempting to fit a keep alive Capacitor to a loco fitted with one of these boards. OK now a photo showing the front and back of the Select Direct Chip with my interpretation of where the Capacitor leads should be connected. The manuals for ESU decoders include a wealth of information about installing the decoders and adding ancillary components like external chuff sensors, headlights, speakers as well as capacitors. These illustrations are taken from the respective manuals and show the appropriate pads on the decoder where the capacitors are connected. You will notice I installed a Soundtraxx 810058 Mini Micro Connector on one leg of the Keep-Alive Device connection. Just a quick note about this product. The 73700 LokSound Select Direct uses a LokSound Micro decoder that is manufactured as a four function decoder plus two additional logic level functions. While some manufacturers seem only to focus on the sound options, the LokSound Select offers GREAT sound options, AND the 5th generation of motor control, resulting in smooth and precise motion control.

By the use of our LokSound Programmer, programming can be even more comfortable by using your computer to adjust the many CVs and settings. However, if you are still unsatisfied with the result, you may at any time use the famous LokSound Programmer to download new sounds into the LokSound Select. Regardless if you are using coreless or conventional DC motors, the LokSound Select’s unique auto-detection function can measure the characteristics and adjust the internal settings.
LokSound Select Micro decoders have 4 function outputs with the possibility of using constant current of 180mA. All function outputs and the motor connection are protected against overload and short-circuit. The LokSound Select Micro decoder is a shrink wrapped package similar to other sound decoders used for direct wire or DCC plug-in applications. We promise to never spam you, and just use your email address to identify you as a valid customer. Click the button below to add the LokSound Select Micro DCC and Sound Decoder to your wish list. Synchronizing the steam chuff rate by using two CVs only virtually eliminates the need for a cam. While other manufacturers seem only to focus on the sound options, the LokSound Select offers the 5th generation of motor control resulting in a smooth and precise locomotive operation.
Besides D312 Rotary beacon, strobe and alternate flashing, there is a firebox flicker, smart flicker, Mars light, Gyralight, Ditch lights (two types), Oscillating Headlights, Stratolight and many more.
If you do not like it, send it back for your refund or exchange (subject to restock charge at discretion of Tony's Train Exchange). I know that the positive feed from the capacitor goes to the Common +ve tab and the negative feed should go to the Ground Tab on the decoder. Including New Decoders, Command Stations, Updates and Upgrades. We'll also let you know where we will be and when we will be there when it comes to Trade Shows and Clinics. We at ESU believe that good motor control is mandatory for model trains: Even the best sound is worthless if the locomotive running is not smooth! Also, because of its unique low-power design, the LokSound Select can be programmed on the programming track of all popular DCC systems.
Since all LokSound Select Direct decoders are loaded with a selection of 16 horns or whistles and at least two prime mover motors, it should be easy to find the correct decoder for your model.
You may use any high-power speaker rated 4 Ohms or 8 Ohms, but we highly recommend to use the ESU speaker range.

The NEW 4 output function LokSound Select Micro decoder was designed with this purpose in mind! It can be used with 14, 28 or 128 speed steps, supports two digit (7 bit addresses) as well as “4-digit” addressing. Because of its unique low-power design, the LokSound Select can be programmed on the programming track of all popular DCC systems. The sounds stored therein are our own recordings which were made by using the latest recording equipment and have been digitally re-mastered for the best audio possible.

With its very small size, the 4AUX decoder can fit easily into many locomotives where space is limited. Good motor control is mandatory for model trains: Even the best sound is worthless if the locomotive running is not smooth!
Due to Dynamic Drive Control (DDC) you can limit the influence of the load control and operate realistically and when going uphill the engine prototypically slows down. The Select Direct was designed to fit as a DIRECT replacement for many modern lighting boards including Athearn Genesis, Atlas, Bowser-Stewart, and Intermountain. Each LokSound select decoder offers at least two prime mover sounds and a wide range of horns or whistles to select from.
If you reside in an EU member state besides UK, import VAT on this purchase is not recoverable. Due to its unique thermal design, it does (like all genuine LokSound decoders) not need any heat sinks. The sounds are transferred to a class “D” audio amplifier via eight polyphonic sound channels. We at ESU believe that good motor control is mandatory for model trains: Even the best sound is worthless if the locomotive running is not smooth! Due to Dynamic Drive Control (DDC) you can limit the influence of the load control and operate really smoothly around the depot and over turnouts, while on the main, when going uphill the engine prototypically slows down. However the removable chip on the Direct board is close but not exactly the same as the drawing.
Of course, all the LokSound Selects support all DCC-programming modes including Programming on the Main  ("POM"). All important light functions like Flash, Gyrolight, Mars light, fire box and so on are provided including the individual adjustment of brightness for each function.
We carry a complete line of base enhanced speakers that fit both steam and diesel locomotives. There is a tiny solder tab next to the plug on the back of the chip that may be the right one.
Sixteen diesel horns are resident in the diesel decoders while steam decoders have many whistles to choose from. Occasionally we delay shipment due to inventory issues, but you are notified if such an occasion arises. These features have cut the number of models (sound downloads) by a factor of ten over the LokSound 3.5 decoder. When the engineer made transition there was a very distinct sounds of the prime mover winding down to idle then up again quickly from Idle to the throttle notch. Synchronizing the steam chuff rate by using two CVs only virtually eliminates the need for a cam, but can of course be connected.
Not all locomotives can make transition -- yard locomotives are often wired only for series. Also many locomotives were equipped with automatic transitions that occured at a high rate of speed.
This classic sound of "Manual Transition" is not heard in these engines the same way as it is in the early 567s. In Fact, it is best to check your prototype as this manual transistion sound could arguably be stated to be wrong for more than it is right for!
Due to this fact we have made our sound with the ability to switch between these options so you can have the proper prime mover sounds for your prototype.
