DCC-equipped for speed, direction and lighting control, our Hi Rail Equipment Truck also features a manually operated crane that moves up and down and swivels 360 degrees. The HO scale layout was designed and built to represent a trip through Santa Cruz County in the first half of the 20th Century. This layout features about 1000 feet of track, Custom built Bridges that replicate the real bridge located in that town, 3 rivers, The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Felton Saw Mill and much much more. The layout is ran with Digitrax DCC system allowing us as many trains as we would like at any speed and direction. SP 8504 & SP 7959 rumble over the Capitola trestle bound for Santa Cruz with a tail of lumber bound for Felton.

Here is a helicopter view of Capitola Village featuring the road bridge that was recently added. SP 8504 and company roll across the San Lorenzo River bridge near the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Big Trees and Pacific CF7 heads light engine up Chestnut Street after interchanging cars to the SP at Santa Cruz. Soon the loads will be spotted, the empties pulled and the train will be reassembled for the trip back to Watsonville. As you tour our layout, you will notice various landmarks that appear thoughout the County to mark the progression of the rails between Watsonville Junction and the end of our modeled portion of track at Olympia.
