Liya Mairson, a graduate of the Shenkar College of Engneering and Design, has created a children's play house that takes cues from pop up books, except this on is life size. When the Stanford Institute of Design needed a couple of interior elements for their facilities, they turned to Because We Can, the awesome husband-and-wife design team we wrote about earlier this year.BWC made this killer built-in lounge made from cedar slats.
Folding playhouse created out of recycled cardboard by talented industrial designer Liya Mairson. The playhouse was inspired by pop-up books, which are almost universally beloved by both kids and adults.

Creative contemporary domestic designs, from unique home architecture to custom interior, furniture & DIY design ideas.Find inspiration via plans & pictures of compact modular mini-houses, small-space apartments, all-in-one bathroom & bedroom projects & more.Upcycled cargo shipping container houses, to space-saving furniture, ultra-modern interiors & futuristic homes! Negative comments reflect a wasted childhood;) I had a miniature cardboard haunted house when I was young and made lots of fond memories playing with it. When closed, it resembles a giant cardboard book. When opened up, it forms a minimal home that offers plenty of opportunity for creativity and modification.
The house can be folded in many different ways, changed up and added to however the miniature residents see fit.But the thing that really sets My Space apart from other playhouses is the fact that it can be folded back up into its book configuration and stashed behind a door or under a bed when playtime is over.
