Virtuoso Voices™ - Zuill Bailey (Exhausted Virtuoso) 0:21 March 2010 CD [Use this clip to enhance your introduction of cellist Zuill Bailey playing Bach's Suite No. 6 for Unaccompanied Cello (Complete or movements) (Telarc 31978). Zuill Bailey’s complete discography is available at www.arkivmusic.com.] SUGGESTED HOST INTRO Cellist Zuill (ZOOL) Bailey’s new CD contains the six Suites for Solo Cello by Bach. He recorded them over an eight-day period. That's two CDs, six suites, 36 movements and two hours and twenty minutes of music. He ended this marathon recording session with the 6th Suite, which he says is "the most virtuosic' and probably the most difficult of the six. Zuill Bailey Clip: "I was at my most fatigued, which you would think you'd want to start with that because you need the most strength but I didn't want to make it about virtuosity, I wanted to make it about music. So I felt that if I was exhausted that I would be more prone to hearing and playing it as music than trying to prove something as a virtuoso vehicle. I just sat down and played. I just played." SUGGESTED HOST OUTRO (Segue to music) OR Cellist Zuill (ZOOL) Bailey – here he is in that purposeful state of exhaustion, playing the Suite No. 6 for Unaccompanied Cello by Bach.
