Small or "soft" are not concepts we normally associate with Beethoven's music, and especially the Beethoven Piano Concertos.  Pianist Till Fellner hears a softer, yet still triumphant sounding Beethoven in his head, and was delighted to share that audio vision with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra and conductor Kent Nagano.

"I think his approach is more big chamber music and especially in the 4th Piano Concerto, I think that's the way to do it.  Also what is wonderful with Kent and his orchestra in Montreal, they can really play softly, you know, they play very transparent.  So these are all things which I like very much."
