Virtuoso Voices™ Funders - Joshua Bell (Hears Dead People) 0:23 Novmeber 2009 CD [Use this clip to enhance your introduction of Joshua Bell playing the Romance (Mvt. II from the Grieg Violin Sonata No. 3 (New...Sony 52716).] SUGGESTED HOST INTRO Some beautiful sounds have come from the merging of classical music and new technologies. Violinist Joshua Bell's new CD includes an appearance by composer and pianist, Sergei Rachmaninoff. Rachmaninoff actually died in 1943, but he appears on this recording by way of Zenph "re-performance" technology, and Joshua Bell says he found it easy to play a Grieg Violin Sonata alongside the legendary pianist. CLIP TRANSCRIPT "You would think it would be odd, but actually it felt very natural. Of course his playing is very natural, and he's such a great musician, obviously – the understatement of the year – but actually when you close your eyes and the piano is playing...actually it sounds like he's in the room - the piano is actually playing as if he's in the room, and you kind of forget, you know, and it just feels like making music. But it was definitely fun for me to do this." SUGGESTED HOST OUTRO Rachmaninoff died in 1943 – but he appears on Joshua Bell's new CD thanks to the use of Zenph "re-performance" technology. (More on the Zenph "re-performance" technology in a moment.) Here's the second movement, the "Romance", from the Violin Sonata No. 3 by Grieg. Violinist Joshua Bell is joined by pianist - Sergei Rachmaninoff. For more information, visit our website at www.virtuosovoices.org.
