Best midwife advice on pregnancy

Health bosses have issued a warning over a 'bogus midwife' offering unqualified advice to pregnant women and mums. The alert, accusing student Kirsty Balkwill of using social media to give medical advice, was sent to health bosses and GP surgeries by Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. The alert - revealed in a trust internal memo which was leaked and has now been shared on Facebook - is headed ‘individual posing as community midwife’.

It reads: “We have been advised by Pennine Acute that a woman may be posing as a community midwife in the north west, claiming to have worked for Pennine Acute Trust previously as a midwife. The trust said it was concerned about the advice being given but stressed no women are thought to have been approached in communities or hospital or healthcare sites.
