I recently started a project installing crown molding in our master bath, but this isn't your everyday crown material!
I designed and built the “Gorilla” because I wanted a downhill bike that would pedal like a hardtail.
I used to own a metalwork shop and I built the bike overnight when the machines weren’t being used (and kept working during the day) thus the dull mobile phone pictures. All of the machining has been done on old fashion mills and lathes (hard but very rewarding) including the linkage and head tube. The Gorilla is completely build in stainless steel, except the linkage mechanism that is made of 7000 series aluminum. Motorized Mountain Bikes and Road Bikes Motorize a full suspension mountain bike to get a smother ride or for a little more speed try motorized road bicycles. I setup an area in the house with plastic on the ground and got to work priming and painting 150' of crown molding.
Using Loctite Power Grab, I applied a bead on the back and top, then press the molding firmly in place. This is really impressive I would like to start a build similar to this but I have a few questions. The lack of a rear derailleur, a non extending chain, a jackshaft double chain system and high pivot location proved to be a winning combo. I would have to keep that away from the city or I would get in WAY too much trouble with it ha ha. I use the forks from a pocket bike to make the rear end of the frame that the seat attaches to.
It carries speed and pedals like no other bike, it certainly doesn’t feel like an 8″+ rear travel bike when you pedal. I welded two nuts on a piece of metal to bolt the seat to and the front of the seat attaches to the gas tank.
