Der kleine Pinguin Jasper glaubt fest daran, dass es auf der Welt mehr geben muss als das Eis und den Schnee seiner antarktischen Heimat, auch wenn sich deswegen jeder Pinguin über ihn lustig macht. Doch eines Tages taucht ein kunterbunter Kakapo bei der Pinguinkolonie auf und erzählt seltsame Geschichten über fremde Welten, ein großes Schiff und die mysteriöse Suche nach gestohlenen Eiern für die er Jaspers Hilfe benötigt.
Kurzentschlossen folgen Jasper und sein kleiner Bruder Junior dem großmäuligen aber letztlich ziemlich ängstlichen Kakapo auf ein wunderschönes Kreuzfahrtschiff. Dort treffen sie auf die liebenswerte und vorlaute Emma, die Tochter des Kapitäns, und versuchen gemeinsam die seltsame Entführung der Eier aufzuklären. Welche Rolle spielt zum Beispiel die überkandidelte Operndiva, die sich auffällig für Emmas Wohlergehen interessiert?
