This video was created to raise awareness and spread the word about the proposed closures at the Oregon Dunes. Unfortunately, information on what areas are being closed were not available through the USDA Forest Service website at the time, "due to scheduled maintenance or other errors."

All of the information in this video was researched through government websites and scholarly sources, thanks to a high level college paper I wrote and scored an A on. I don't like throwing that around as I feel it's a boastful, but in this case it backs up everything I said.

While the USDA Forest Service has said that they are already past the point of public comment, with enough support we can make them think twice, or build a case to undo these closures. As stated, this decision will result in more ATV collisions, leading to injury and death, especially in youth, despite the use of all proper safety gear and dune flags. It will hurt the economy of the Oregon coast as a result of lower attendance. The Snowy Plover's habitat will be destroyed while trying to preserve an environment that was created in the last 100 years by our government that was not controlled and maintained. Finally, it will add to the current flooding problem and allow the invasive species to destroy the sand dunes.
