The English Access Microscholarship Program is a two-year project, funded by the US Department of State through the Regional English Language Office (RELO), US.
Supported by the United Nation Democracy Fund (UNDEF), the Moroccan Center for Civic Education (MCCE), in collaboration with the regional board of the Moroccan Journalists Union in Benslimane and Mohamedia, organized a national meeting on public policies in Bouznika from 9 to 11 May 2014. The event took place in the framework of the Project a€?Engaging Civil Society and Youth in Public Policy Dialogue in North Africa” funded by The United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF) and implemented by the Moroccan Center for Civic Education. Day two and three focussed on workshops on the role of youth, CSOs and mass media in enlisting authorities to adopt their public policies in order to promote democracy. By the end of the event, a network of youth, CSOs and mass media representative was set up to follow up with the project and continue the work with their communities. A  The event has attracted a lot of mass media attention and has been reported on Morocco National TV (AlOula) national radio stations and newspapers including declarations and interviews with the Moroccan Center for Civic Education and Ms. Under the theme of a€?Educating Youth for Democratic Futures,a€? the conference gathered more than 150 academics, professional educators, civil society leadersA and high level representatives from over twenty countries across the world together with experts and civil society leaders, educators, students, media and youth representatives from Morocco.

Participants explored how teachers and schools can educate learners to be effective and active citizens who are committed to democratic principles. Students of the US Department of State English Access Microscholarship Program in Morocco presented their community project addressing the problem of School Violence.
From March 21 to 23, the Moroccan Center for Civic Education in collaboration with Takatoul of associations, Grand Tangiers organised a workshop for the benefit of youth and CSOs on public policies issues. The first day featured a debate between youth, CSOs leaders and members with Minister of Youth and Sport, Mr. The dialogue focussed on the existing public policies proposed by the Government for the benefit of youth and how they need improvement to assist youth to get jobs, be involved in community issues and political life, and shaping the Morocco life into a democratic practice. Attended the debate Parliamentarians, elected and community members, council members and regional and local authorities, different mass media reporters in addition to 150 participants representing youth and 70 CSOs. The two other days featured an intensive workshop training that targeted 35 youth on political participation, civic engagement and the role of the civil society in promoting democracy and human rights. The event attracted a lot of mass media attention including major newspapers, radio channels and electronic media. Generations of teachers, union organizers, and activists have relied on this book-and-poster set, originally published in 1979, to illustrate the magnitude of America’s economic divide—which has only grown ever since. Folded inside the companion booklet, the poster depicts color-coded figures that make it possible to compare social groups at a glance and to understand how income distribution relates to race, sex, education, and occupation. Rose’s latest findings reveal that recent economic growth has mostly benefited the wealthiest households, that the term “middle class” has lost most of its meaning, that a gender gap persists in the workplace, and that, on average, African Americans and Latinos still earn far less than other Americans. The Catherine Donnelly Foundation takes a proactive approach to adult education, viewing it as an important tool to address the most pressing social, environmental, cultural and community development problems and concerns today.

It got together more than 200 civil society leaders, youth, university students together with journalists, mass media representatives, MPs, regional and local elected members.

Fatima Marouane, Minister of Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy, and featured a political debate on public policies between the participants and Government representatives and MPs. The CSOs, youth and mass media representatives came up with and showcased recommendations and proposed public policies that they will submit to the authorities and Parliament during June 2014.
Through presentations, workshops, discussion groups, and networking sessions, the conference provided a forum for dialogue and sharing of innovative practices and experiences. The students demonstrated how they developed public policy proposals to address community problems through the highly successful Project Citizen curriculum to engage NGOs and youth in public policy issues and enable them to participate in informed policy dialogue with policy makers, community members.
The event was an opportunity for youth and CSOs from different areas of North Morocco to discuss and exchange ideas about public policies, civic engagement, good governance and political participation. Mohammed Ouzzine and 4 Parliamentarians from the main political parties represented in the Morocco Parliament, namely Justice and Development Party (PGD), Peoplea€™s Movement (AP), National Rally of Independents (RNI), and Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM). With charts and careful explanations, the booklet shows how to make the most of the poster in the classroom and beyond, and reveals the considerable changes in America’s social landscape over the last few decades.
During the camp, the trainers will assist the participants to live together in a learning community and expose them to a variety of sports, language, music, and community service activities and discussing public policies ensuring rapid progress in the application of leadership principles within teams.
