Bear Grylls Survival Academy’s Ultimate Team Building Courses, specifically tailored to the corporate world, are high energy bespoke courses unlike any other outdoor based experiences – driving participants to work smarter, not harder.
The innovative courses offer unique experiences that challenge and test the all-round strength and determination of participants with incredibly rewarding results for individuals and a more dynamic team for organisations.

Comprising of a combination of remote land and water survival and adventure team tasks that culminate in a wilderness expedition designed to put the enrollees’ new found skills to the ultimate test.
Each course is tailor-made to meet the objectives and budgets of every business – whether it is an incentive experience, a team building exercise for staff or management and leadership development. Bear says, “Everything I have learnt about business was first learnt from the wild – trust, risk management, going that extra mile, dynamic teamwork and honest communication. Bear Grylls Survival Academy Team Building Courses are available in the UK, USA, UAE and Australia, with plans for future courses being offered in Ireland, South Africa and France. Bear says, “So many people have asked me over the years where they can learn extreme, practical survival – the type that requires spirit, determination and the skills to self-rescue against the odds, in some of the harshest terrain around. Both courses are designed to put enrolees' new found skills to the test and, under the guidance of Bear's expert team, will be taught techniques including learning to forage, identifying animal runs, wilderness first aid, cooking wild game, navigation by day and night, building emergency shelters, stalking, self-protection in the wild from attacks and tying knots among much more. This is a rare chance for a lucky few outdoor enthusiasts from around the globe to be taught Bear’s eXtreme survival techniques on ‘the most challenging but empowering survival course on the planet. We will then move over rugged terrain by 4?4 vehicles to the Academy’s wilderness base camp.
The day continues with remote and improvised First Aid, followed by the practical use of snares, traps and drop out fishing lines. You’ll need to use your skills to make a fire from scratch, check the snare and drop lines. Devoid of “Munros” (hills over 3,000 feet), crofters (tenant farmers) and wind turbines, it features two mighty glens running west across some of the most inspiring and challenging landscapes in the British Isles. Ideally suited to organisations looking for results-driven team building, staff incentives and corporate events, the Ultimate Team Building Courses bring people face to face with a little bit of healthy Bear Grylls danger! Designed by Bear Grylls, the courses are led by his team of official Survival Academy instructors who have worked alongside him in challenging environments around the globe. Techniques learned on the course include building and lighting fires, building emergency shelters, knife use for survival, rappelling, extreme weather survival, river crossings and, more famously, foraging for grubs and rodents as part of Bear’s ‘gross eat’ challenge.

The courses can be anything from a few hours, a full day, overnight or even longer periods depending what businesses set out to achieve. There is nothing like trying to light a fire or cross a river to force you to re-engage some left brain initiative and right brain ‘calm in the storm. Each course requires courage, awareness, physical fitness and above all determination which will be key to completing the course. The Academy has been designed by Bear himself and the courses will be run by his close team of highly trained experts. You will undertake navigation training and you’ll learn how to dynamically and safely ascend and descend cliff faces and difficult terrain using a variety of techniques, followed by an inspiring campfire survival lecture. Then later, you’ll build your own emergency shelter, prepare and cook some exciting wilderness food and undertake a night navigation exercise. From the highest point of the Reserve, an unparalleled view is afforded of both the Atlantic and the North Sea. Locations are either sourced by the Bear Grylls Survival Academy team to suit the business needs or the courses tailored to suit a chosen location.
For the ultimate experience enrollees can enter theatre by speed boat, a Bear Grylls style helicopter drop off or hover jump, or by travelling across challenging terrain in a 4×4.
Today continues with a stalking lecture and exercise, a river crossing training exercise and you will practice a range of techniques for crossing ravines and moving across, up and down difficult eXtreme terrain by use of rope climbing, tyrolean line and classic abseil techniques.
