No culture of Kefir is exactly the same, but here is a good indication of which kinds of bacteria and yeasts you’ll be introducing to your body if you drink kefir. The commercial probiotics have much less diversity in bacteria species, and usually none of the beneficial yeast species. I am still analyzing, and preparing the data from my kefir experiment, and will share it in the near future along with how to begin making your own. Lactobacillus Gasseri – This is also a type of lactic acid-producing bacteria, and is found in the gastrointestinal tract of the human body. It is applied in the fermentation of different food products and also in biotechnological research. Also, certain modern fermented foods, especially processed, are a reliable way to obtain L. These are said to be more beneficial than most other lactobacillus bacteria as they can tolerate higher temperatures, are easy to manufacture and are relatively affordable. Acidophilus do exist naturally in the mouth, gastric and intestinal tracts and the vagina in women. Its patented form, Lactobacillus Rhamnosus GG, is claimed to be useful in treating diarrhea, respiratory infections, Atopic Dermatitis, urogenital tract and anxiety.
Furthermore, these are more tolerant towards the digestive juices in the intestines, hence countering them and aiding the digestive process.
