Imagination, creativity, collaboration, performance and reflection form the ethos of The Long Eaton School's approach to the Performing Arts.
Music is taught in a practical way, with students taking part in live performances, publishing their composition work and using a variety of musical instruments and industry standard software.
The KS3 course is based around developing the skills and knowledge to go on to study GCSE in Year 9.
Year 8 start the year by developing their knowledge of music technology through composing film music. All of these topics are taught with a practical focus and aim to develop skills in performance and composition, as well as improving their knowledge of musical elements and their listening skills. Year 7 students have an hour of music every week, with Year 8 students having one hour every fortnight. All students are given the opportunity to continue studying Music at KS4 through Edexcel GCSE Music.

Band Projects, small group work and instrumental lessons take place in one of the three dedicated rehearsal rooms, one of which doubles as a live room for the recording studio, also housed within the music department.
All students are provided with the opportunity to take up instrumental lessons which are taught by specialist teachers during the school day.

When you want to show your students that music isn't MAGIC, but there is some sense to how it all comes together, there is nothing quite like writing it out on paper yourself -- or THEM writing it out. Writing the fretted notes in with pencil really helps bring home to students just how chords are built. Also, IF YOU ARE ASKING FOR MUSIC THAT IS NOT IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN, YOUR REQUEST WILL BE IGNORED. I have just started teaching some really keen Y6 boys who want to play Scarborough Fair, and your version is perfect.
I've already printed several for my children, including the Pretty Little Horses TAB and Carol of the Bells for piano. The experiences they gain prepare them to engage with the world of music outside the classroom. GCSE Music covers a detailed exploration of composition styles and also solo and ensemble performances. Students are expected to continue to develop their skills and knowledge outside of lessons.
Students develop performance skills, compose music and learn about both classical and more contemporary styles of music. The spaces are used in a flexible manner and students are able to access music specific software in the computer suite, or use a range of electric and acoustic instruments such as African drums, ukuleles, steel pans, keyboards and guitars.

In addition, they are able to book and use the rehearsal spaces and equipment for their own individual and group music projects. Or can they circle the primary bass note of the chord?Let me know if you figure out any other uses for blank chord template pages! My wife and I own our own teaching studio in Texas and I am always looking for new songs to teach my beginner guitar students. Thank you so much for your hard work getting these on the web, you have made many children very happy!! Students develop performance and composition skills and also focus on reflection and evaluation. They then go on to explore music from the Baroque era and attempt to create a Christmas piece of their own. However, students are encouraged to share their skills and learning in many other spaces around the grounds, including the beautiful Sensory Garden. They are encouraged to take up or continue to learn to play musical instruments, and to develop creative, independent and collaborative learning skills.
Other topics covered include a study of Blues and Jazz music, as well as learning about musical theatre. Category you want to view and backgrounds that you want to be able to download the presentation as appropriate to your project.
