Brave came to the movie theaters this past June, wowing audiences with yet another amazing adventure. Both movies had good plots and we had the added benefit of watching them both on a 3D Television. This new Disney Fairies adventure featuring star attraction Tinker Bell (Mae Whitman) is Class A family fare from the House of Mouse. The digital animation is clean with little to balk at, offering up a rich palette of colors. A fine entry in Disney’s series of Tink adventures, families can sit back and enjoy this harmless entertainment without worry.
Years before meeting Wendy and the Lost Boys, Tinker Bell met Lizzy, a little girl with a steadfast belief in the power of pixie dust and the magic land of fairies. Experience Disney’s astonishing all-new movie about the true power of faith and friendship. As a grownup my favorite part about Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue was the back-story. I just watched this movie the other day with my little grand daughter and she was totally overcome with the whole Tinkerbell thing.

The setting of Brave is the Highlands of Scotland where the heroine of the movie, Merida, lives as a skilled archer.
With a star-studded voice cast featuring Anjelica Huston as Queen Clarion, Timothy Dalton as Lord Milori, Lucy Liu as Silvermist, Raven-Symone as Irdessa and others, this new tale finds the ever-busy tinker fairy Bell exploring the Winter Woods despite a ban on summer fairies crossing into the winter woods and vice versa. Witness the historic moment when Tinker Bell first meets a human being, and it’s not who you think.
During the fairies’ summer visit to the flowering meadows of England, two very different worlds unite for the first time and Tink develops a special bond with a curious child in need of a friend. Bursting with excitement and imagination, Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue is magical entertainment for the whole family. One day, after a disagreement with her mother over a marriage betrothal, Merida goes to a witch for help, but the end result is that her family is cursed. There, she discovers she has a sister born of the same laugh, Periwinkel (Lucy Hale), and when together, the sisters’ wings light up like nothing before.
The 3D work is better than some theatrical releases I have seen that have been converted to 3D, which isn’t really saying much.
As her fellow fairies launch a daring rescue, Tinker Bell takes a huge risk, putting her own safety and the future of all fairykind in jeopardy.

You get to see a little girl’s face light up with the knowledge that fairies do exist.
As she journeys for answers, she is introduced to The Lord of Winter as well as a few Frost Fairies. But crossing into each other’s territory poses a great risk to their health, and breaking the rules draws the attention of Lord Milori of the Winter Woods and Queen Clarion of the Summer Woods. The other Tinker Bell stories have been showing us the fairy world and now with Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue those worlds come together. A fun adventure, probably the best in the Disney Fairies series yet, kids will definitely love this one and so will grownups who will appreciate the film’s moral center and lack of cynicism and off the cuff humor.
