Normally I don’t really care how perfect the swirl is because all I really care about is the flavor. Not only was I learning everything to do with forensic accounting, I was teaching myself how to cook and bake.
We’ve been remodeling our kitchen to make the layout better and give me even more workspace. I am obsessed with making a perfect swirl in my cinnamon rolls and your pictures made me so excited!!! You can knead by hand for 5-10 minutes I would use a spoon to get the dough started and the knead it on the counter. Delia suggested leaving it to rise for 45 minutes, but mine took a couple of hours because it was such a cold day.
To shape the muffins, I went back to Pinch My Salt’s recipe, and pulled off bits of the dough and shaped them by hand.

Spread a thin layer of fudge onto the sponge, then spread the cream filling onto the sponge. Use a fork to make some wavy bark lines and rings on the ends of the chocolate log and then clean up any excess fudge from the plate.

You can also decorate it with some Christmas cake decorations or if you’re like me, a small sprig of holly. Again sugar cookies are already amazing as is BUT I wanted to create some next level sugar cookies. The sponge may crack a little while you are rollling it, but that doesn’t matter too much as you’ll be covering it up anyway, but with care and patience you should get a perfect roll. Whip together for 5 minutes or until everything is well incorporated.Spread over the top of the warm coffee cinnamon rolls.
