The heart is a muscular organ about the size of a fist, located just behind and slightly left of the breastbone. The right ventricle receives blood from the right atrium and pumps it to the lungs, where it is loaded with oxygen. The left atrium receives oxygenated blood from the lungs and pumps it to the left ventricle. The left ventricle (the strongest chamber) pumps oxygen-rich blood to the rest of the body.
The coronary arteries run along the surface of the heart and provide oxygen-rich blood to the heart muscle.
Coronary artery disease: Over the years, cholesterol plaques can narrow the arteries supplying blood to the heart. Stable angina pectoris: Narrowed coronary arteries cause predictable chest pain or discomfort with exertion. Unstable angina pectoris: Chest pain or discomfort that is new, worsening, or occurs at rest. Arrhythmia (dysrhythmia): An abnormal heart rhythm due to changes in the conduction of electrical impulses through the heart. Congestive heart failure: The heart is either too weak or too stiff to effectively pump blood through the body. Pericardial effusion: Fluid between the lining of the heart (pericardium) and the heart itself. Atrial fibrillation: Abnormal electrical impulses in the atria cause an irregular heartbeat.
Cardiac stress test: By using a treadmill or medicines, the heart is stimulated to pump to near-maximum capacity. Cardiac catheterization: A catheter is inserted into the femoral artery in the groin and threaded into the coronary arteries. Event monitor: If a doctor suspects an infrequent arrhythmia, a portable heart monitor called an event monitor can be worn.
Angioplasty: During cardiac catheterization, a doctor inflates a balloon inside a narrowed or blocked coronary artery to widen the artery. Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI): Angioplasty is sometimes called a PCI or PTCA (percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty) by doctors. Coronary artery stenting: During cardiac catheterization, a doctor expands a wire metal stent inside a narrowed or blocked coronary artery to open up the area. Thrombolysis: “Clot-busting” drugs injected into the veins can dissolve a blood clot causing a heart attack. Lipid-lowering agents: Statins and other cholesterol (lipid) lowering drugs reduce the risk for heart attack in high-risk people.
Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACE inhibitors): These blood pressure medicines also help the heart after some heart attacks or in congestive heart failure. Clopidogrel (Plavix): A clot-preventing medicine that prevents platelets from sticking together to form clots. Antiarrhythmic medications: Numerous medicines help control the heart’s rate and electrical rhythm. AED (automated external defibrillator): If someone has sudden cardiac arrest, an AED can be used to assess the heart rhythm and send an electrical shock to the heart if necessary. ICD (Implantable cardioverter defibrillator): If a doctor suspects you are at risk for a life-threatening arrhythmia, an implantable cardioverter defibrillator may be surgically implanted to monitor your heart rhythm and send an electrical shock to the heart if necessary. A total eclipse of the Sun has not been seen in the continental USA for nearly two generations. Although people may opt for the longer durations in eastern regions of the USA, poorer weather prospects here suggest going west. Prudence may suggest observing from regions of good weather prospects with shorter durations than locations with longer durations that have higher probabilities of not seeing the eclipse at all. Currently maximum total eclipse durations are declining with the 2009 July eclipse longest of the 21st Century. Finally, maximum duration of a total solar eclipse occurs only on the center line of the eclipse path about mid-way between its ends.

Welcome to the the updated web site for Beginners fitness …I hope you like the new look! This is a step by step guide where you will learn how to change your life style and achieve your fitness goal with theories behind fitness and practical advices from a certified coach. We all know that doing an aerobic workout to sweat at the gym is really good for the body, but it is really hard for many of us, and we prefer the pace of a walking program. These researchers found that every aspect of the cardio benefits gained are significantly higher in the hard cardio workout group than in the walking group.
Scientists created a working guitar the size of a red blood cell to illustrate the possible uses of nanotechnology. The best natural remedies for hives are those that keep the patient from scratching and those that cool the inflamed skin. Certain natural remedies can be effective at relieving the symptoms of hives until the condition resolves.
Bathing in oatmeal, cornstarch, or baking soda is one of the most common natural remedies for hives. Cold compresses of milk or ice cubes wrapped in a towel can also be used as natural remedies for hives. Applications of vitamin E, aloe vera, and certain herbal teas may also soothe the itchiness and burning of hives.
One of the most effective natural remedies for hives is to take steps to stop scratching the affected skin.
Pregnancy and diabetes – how to control blood sugar while, Oprah is a registered trademark of harpo, inc. How the blood sugar of diabetes affects the body, Diabetes mellitus leads to persistently elevated blood sugar levels.
How to lower your blood sugar fast – hubpages, If your high blood sugar level does not come down within an hour of the above temporary measures and is accompanied by any of the following symptoms, seek emergency.
Blood sugar – wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, The blood sugar concentration or blood glucose level is the amount of glucose (sugar) present in the blood of a human or animal.
Control blood sugar levels with food – body+soul, Regulating blood sugar levels is essential for good health, to maintain a healthy weight and to lower the risk of diseases such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease. The heart pumps blood through the network of arteries and veins called the cardiovascular system. A web of nerve tissue also runs through the heart, conducting the complex signals that govern contraction and relaxation.
The narrowed arteries are at higher risk for  complete blockage from a sudden blood clot (this blockage is called a heart attack). The blockages prevent the heart from receiving the extra oxygen needed for strenuous activity.
This is an emergency situation as it can precede a heart attack, serious abnormal heart rhythm, or cardiac arrest.
An echocardiogram provides direct viewing of any problems with the heart muscle’s pumping ability and heart valves.
A doctor can then view X-ray images of the coronary arteries or any blockages and perform stenting or other procedures.
Beta-blockers are prescribed for many heart conditions, including heart failure and arrhythmias.
A seven minute duration will not happen again until 2150 June (7m14s) while a total eclipse with a duration near maximum is nearly two centuries in the future. Not until 2078 will total eclipse durations begin to increase when Saros cycle 139 begins to bring eclipses of longer and longer durations. This position may often be difficult to access as it was, for example, during the 2012 November Australia eclipse.
If you have type 2 diabetes, or joint problems, walking is safer, and is still a very effective workout. For example, if you decide to work out three times a week, you can do two days of weight training and with 20 minutes (and eventually to 30 minutes) of cardio workout using a machine at a gym, and choose one day for a long walk.

Covering the skin or covering the fingers to prevent scratching, which can make the itching and inflammation worse, is probably the most important part of home care.
Hives are welts that appear on the skin in reaction to an allergy, stress, or other trigger. The cold compresses will relieve some of the itching and burning that may accompany the condition.
Herbal teas that are commonly brewed, cooled, and applied to the skin to reduce hives include chamomile, valerian, and peppermint.
If swelling of the face or throat occurs or if there is nausea or dizziness, the patient should be taken to a physician. Although eclipse durations have their maximum values along points on the central line, these durations diminish with increasing distance from the central line. Almost half are approximately three minutes or less (as will be with the 2017 August eclipse).
This will not happen until the remarkable 2186 July total eclipse (7m29s), the longest duration of totality during the years -2000 to +4000.
For this eclipse, maximum duration was 4m02s over the central Pacific Ocean and not the Australian mainland. In this way, you won’t be straining your body too much, and you will still get a significant cardiovascular workout benefit.
Cool baths and applications of cold compresses to the skin can also be important in easing the discomfort associated with hives. Take care not to use hot water for a shower or bath, however, because this can exacerbate the symptoms. The compresses should be placed on the affected area a few times each day and allowed to stay for about 15 minutes. Cover the area, if that’s the only way to stop scratching, but do so with loose clothing or a loosely wrapped bandage. I dilute the vinegar half and half with water and spray it all over my body. It sounds very simple, but drinking lots of water is another natural, home remedy for hives.
Annular eclipses occur when the Moon's disk is not large enough to hide the entire solar disk at maximum eclipse. Unfortunately, this long duration will take place about 400 mi (640 km) east of South America in the Atlantic Ocean, 500 mi (800 km) north of the equator. Fortunately, greatest duration for the 2017 August eclipse does occur over the mainland USA. Totality is a two minute eclipse on the West Coast with the east coast having 34 seconds more. Thus, western location may again have an advantage since summer storms tend to build during afternoon hours, a common occurrence during summer months.
The duration of totality decreases slowly at first with the distance from the central line of totality then increases rapidly. Although much less spectacular than total solar eclipses, central durations are often much longer. After 6 months on the program, the former group achieved significantly lower blood pressure, higher lung capacity, and higher oxygen intake, and found that it felt much easier to work out. I have been getting less hives outbreaks since I started drinking more water and keeping my skin hydrated with natural moisturizers. The approximate range in altitude of the Sun in degrees during the eclipse is also shown for both west and east regions. For example, at a distance of 60% away from the central line to the edge of totality, the duration is still 80% of maximum. Even if the fractional distance from the central line is one half, the loss in duration is only about 15%. Hence, observers usually do not need to be exactly on the central line to experience most of the duration of totality.
