Yim Tin Tsai is a small offshore island in Sai Kung, Hong Kong. It had been abandoned since the early 1990s and its salt pans were neglected for many generations. Hong Kong's government has given the go-ahead to revitalise the salt pans to preserve the villagers' cultural heritage as well as the ecological aspect of the island.
This documentary features the groundbreaking ceremony of the salt pan revitalisation at Yim Tin Tsai island with Chief Secretary Carrie Lam and Vicar General of the Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong Dominic Chan officiating the ceremony which, was held on 17th March 2013.

政務司司長林鄭月娥和天主教香港教區副主教陳志明今天（3月17日）為鹽田復修動土禮主禮，鹽田仔位於香港西貢內海，離西貢碼頭船程約15分鐘，是一個有近300年歷史、具天主教特色的客家村落，村民和保育團體近年致力發展鹽田仔的文化及生態保育，並推動有關的歷史文化與生態保育的教育工作。
