"Erotikon" is a 1920 Swedish romantic comedy film directed by Mauritz Stiller, starring Tora Teje, Karin Molander, Anders de Wahl and Lars Hanson. It is based on the 1917 play A kék róka by Ferenc Herczeg. The story revolves around an entomology professor obsessed with the sexual life of bugs, and his easygoing wife who is courted by two suitors.
The film premiered in Sweden on 8 November 1920. It became a commercial success and was sold to 45 markets abroad...

Un agiato professore di entomologia (De Wahl) trascura la moglie Irene (Teje), corteggiata dal giovane scultore Preben (Hanson) e da un ricco barone (Bryde). Preben, ingelosito, provoca un duello tra il barone e il marito di Irene, sventato da Marte (Molander), nipote del prof. e sua assistente. Irene confessa l'adulterio e chiede il divorzio. Il prof. ne è lieto perché si è innamorato di Marte. Le due coppie felici iniziano una nuova vita insieme. Ispirata alla pièce A kék róka di Ferenc Herczeg, adattata dal finnico Stiller con Gustav Molander, è l'archetipo della commedia sofisticata: brillante, ambigua, di un cinismo venato d'ironia con un risvolto in favore della poligamia. Il finale suscitò scandalo, dentro e fuori la Svezia. Fecero sensazione la sequenza girata da un aereo (una rarità nel 1920) e quella del balletto al teatro dell'Opera di Stoccolma. Ammirato da Lubitsch, influenzò il Chaplin di La donna di Parigi (1923) e, nel sonoro, Billy Wilder, Blake Edwards e persino l'Ingmar Bergman delle commedie.
