At the Spring 2016 Bridal Week shows, designers were unanimous in their message to brides: anything goes. Ribbons were the accessory of choice for Spring 2016, with designers opting to use them as belts cinched neatly around the waist to give a feminine and tailored look. If you are a girl who wants a big statement dress, you can absolutely have it, but know that a strapless model may be hard to find. Two-piece ensembles have been happening for a few seasons, but where the cropped top and ballskirt have dominated in previous years, now we are seeing tailored and more demure styles. Touchable floral elements were a huge trend amongst designers who used the detail in dress overlays to give fabric a sense of movement and fluidity. Long Sleeves- from lace to sheer variations, and now even flouncy styles are hitting the market to provide brides with yet another way to show off their arms. Two-Piece– Show off your curves in one of the trendies silhouettes of the season by rocking a crop or two-piece style gown.
Plunging Necklines- V-neck styles provide brides the perfect silhouette for showing off their curves. Slender Silhouettes – Many dresses this season are getting slender and provide brides another sleek way to show off their curves. High Necklines- Dresses that feature high necklines in the form of turtle necklace showcase a new way to highlights your decollete as you walk down the aisle. Metallic Shimmer- Gold, silver and bronze hues dominated the runway, providing brides the perfect way to add some shimmer to their special day. I'm just a 20 something blogger who loves weddings, and currently in the mist of planning my own! Bridal fashion week in New York City brought us some seriously amazing wedding dresses this year. I’ve gathered a few of my favorite wedding dress trends from the Spring 2016 collections, below. Wedding dress trends for 2016 are seriously gorge, and it’s been interesting to see how the trends have evolved over the years. Stylish brides looking for the latest and greatest in wedding fashion -- your search stops here. We spent the last week scouring the Bridal Market runways to bring you the hottest trends of the season. Designers traded the seasons-old favourite pale pink tone for a creamy nude maple shade that looked fresh and feminine.
Showing skin has been a trend for a few seasons, but for Spring 2016 nearly every designer showed skin-baring wedding dresses. Crisp and super cool, the menswear look is ultra modern and perfect for an intimate city hall wedding, or even as a choice for a secondary outfit for a traditional wedding. Over the past few years wedding gown traditions have pretty much been pushed to the edge, and this season the runway showcased many new bridal styles that go beyond breaking tradition.
Feather are quite the avant-garde material when it comes to bridal wear, but if done correctly you could wind up being one memorable bride.
This silhouette allows for tons of creativity since you can add your own bottoms or top for quite the unique wedding style. Designers such as Vera Wang, Monique Lhuillier, Marchesa, Oscar de la Renta, and Naeem Khan debuted their Spring 2016 collection, and they each had their own distinct personalities.

Personally, I think there’s never been a better time to purchase a beautiful, on-trend wedding dress that will have all heads whipping your way. Designers had us on our toes with an array of sexy, sheer silhouettes, flirty florals and dramatic, glamorous gowns. Off-the-shoulder gowns, light blue hues (a subconscious nod to "Frozen's" Queen Elsa, perhaps?), plunging necklines, capes, floral patterns, chic separates, feathers and partial overlay skirts are all "in" for 2016. A new sexiness in bridal fashion is here to stay with dresses hugging figures and exposing skin via plunging backs and necklines (and even strategically-placed sheer side panels). This season there was less glitzy embellishment; instead it was all about the delicacy and intricacy of fabric.
From new selections being offered in bridal outwear, to brides walking down the aisle in pants. This season designers showcased many options for brides who’d much rather wear pants. While no two wedding dresses looked even remotely alike amongst the Spring 2016 collections, there were some definitely trends to be found. From chic, belted and cinched styles to pantsuits, modern princess gowns and 3D textured creations, here is our rundown of the top wedding dress trends you’ll see hitting stores later this year.
Even though we saw a couple of them in the 2015 wedding dress collections, there are some new ones making us really happy (hello, off-the-shoulder-dresses).
