Sometime soon, zombies may begin taking over the planet and you’ll have to fight hard to survive or become one of them.
If you watched World War Z, you might remember the scene where Brad Pitt’s character taped magazines around his forearms to protect them from zombie bites.
While having guns would be optimal and knockin’ zombie heads off with a shotgun can be an amazing survival skill in itself, you should also have some weapons to stab the zombies in their heads when you run out of ammo. Crossbows, axes, hammers, crowbars (or a glow-in-the-dark glowbar like the one below) and baseball bats can all be effective tools for smashing some zombie skulls as well. The fresh water supply may not exist anymore or it might be contaminated, so you’ll want to have a LifeStraw or something similar to have access to clean water. If a zombie bites you, it’s probably too late and you’ll be part of the living dead army shortly, but for other injuries a first aid kit will be great to have! They need to be robust and waterproof, but they also need a good quality sole for stomping on zombie skulls. While all the essential survival tools in the world can be great, what you know and how effectively you can use your body is a lot more important. Now that you’re ready for anything thanks to our 10 bosslike zombie apocalypse survival tips, make sure you actually have all the items on the list and know how to fight! Set before the events of the television series, players take on the role of everyone’s favourite redneck Daryl Dixon as he and his racist brother Merle as they fight their way through zombie hordes to reach the city of Atlanta, learning how the fan favourite character discovered his signature crossbow in the process.
The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct brings the authentic, heart-stopping horrors of a zombie apocalypse to life. Sooner or later I think people are going to start running out of money but at least it's for a good cause right ;), well today we have another interesting looking kickstarter but unlike the other recent games featured it isn't a space strategy. Of cause it isn't just down to your characters being on their own to fight and defend, you will need to place defenses around the game area and outside to defend yourself against the onslaught. But with all this base building and defending comes at a cost, you will need those resources just like most other games of this type. If that wasn't enough, the combat area contains what the developers call Mass Destruction, with destructible environmental features, vehicles, Shrapnel, ricochets and all out carnage!

Your characters will also need to be managed correctly in the base of operations, where they will be needed most. The developers have released a video on the kickstarter site as I know some of you prefer just a good video to show off the game rather than a long article, but I for one am really looking forward to this game. As of this article they have had a pledge amount of $8,423 with a $100,000 goal to achieve and only 25days to go.
Ideally, you’d want to use a few layers of magazines or phone books and wrap them around your arms and torso using duct tape, but use what you have available to you for armor! Everyone knows you have to deactivate the zombie’s brain to stop that sneaky bastard from continuously attacking you. If they’re going to be wearing sunglasses like the scumbag below, you better be rockin’ some killer shades to top them!
Some things to learn about: Medical skills (take a first aid class at least), morse code, fighting (martial arts combined with strength training), running (sprints to get away from zombies when you need to), growing food, hunting, fishing, carpentry, and climbing.
With 10 years of my life spent in the United States, rumor has it that I may even know how to grill a great burger.
Bringing together traditional first-person action with resource manage tactics and elements of survival means that this game isn’t your typical blood bath of a shoot-em-up.
Walkers look, move and react to sights, sounds and smells just the way that they do in the hit television show. It has been made possible by William Owen, Dave Convery, Phil Whitehouse and a team of dedicated and committed contributors who all contribute to the site for free. From what I can see so far it seems as if the type of base building will be that of a structured design to the like of Theme Hospital, ie the placing of structures side by side in which you can see inside the rooms. You will need to lead your expedition team to the wasteland to gather supplies and to work on missions, so adding this to the list and the base building will surely give us a lot of interesting gameplay to come. The developers claim the engine is of advanced physics and dynamic environment, so if you see me playing, I'll probably be jumping straight in that vehicle and mowing down the bad guys! The characters in this game will not just be some pictured avatar in which you can click and attack, they will have feelings and emotions, they have needs and will need help.

Not much has been said about it yet from other places but I doubt that will last too long once the word gets out, I also hope they achieve their goal to which I'll get to in a minute. I don't wear socks with sandals any longer, but I still drink beer and eat sauerkraut like a German. Players will choose whether to stay and fight while risking a gruesome death or using stealth to avoid the undead. Daryl and Merle Dixon have both been modeled on their television counterparts and by providing voice acting manage to bring the game to life in a manner that is true to the series. Unlike Theme Hospital this isn't cute and cuddly and doesn't aim to make you laugh but to survive and not to get killed. It will also be possible to upgrade weaponry, so make sure everything is planned correctly including troop management.
The type of combat in this game is going to be real time, so acting on a rush and a lack of technology without thought and no tactics will probably get you eaten alive or shot to pieces, especially with enemies that are ten times stronger and a thousand times more vicious than humans. Things like learning to fly a plane or moving undetected like a ninja could also come in handy!
You will need to build basic life sustain facilities such as bedroom, storage room or a kitchen to fulfill the basic needs of the survivors. It will certainly be interesting to see how this type of gameplay plays out and how easy it is to manage the entire team in the base and outside. So make sure your characters are well managed and balance your expedition teams to suit the needs of the mission! You also need to construct supporting structures such as a clinic to heal the injured or a play room to entertain your squad.
