An iceberg is a large piece of freshwater ice that has broken off a glacier or an ice shelf and is floating freely in open water.
If you've properly tied a double fisherman's knot, each knot should have an X on the same side.

We've all seen Bear Grylls battle the elements from the comfort of our arm chairs, but what about those of us that want to get out there, get covered in mud and dine on the local wildlife?Well there is such a place - The Bear Grylls Survival Academy. Use these free images for your websites, art projects, reports, and Powerpoint presentations!
Adam is an experienced hiker and canyoneer, who has visited some of the most breathtaking and remote places in the United States. Tabular icebergs have steep and flat tops like a plateau, while non-tabular icebergs include irregular shapes such as rounded tops, spires, sloping sides, and blocks.
Remember, only proceed if you're joining two pieces of rope or cording that you'd like to stay permanently tied.

The other side should show four neat rows of wound cord [sources: A Site About Nothing, Net Knots, YouTube]. Here you can take on nature at it's toughest and experience a little taste of the Bear Grylls lifestyle.
As an instructor for Desert and Wilderness Survival, and for Leave No Trace camping practices, he shares his passion and respect for the outdoors to all.
To be classified as an iceberg, the height of the ice must be greater than 16 feet above sea level and the thickness must be 98-164 feet and the ice must cover an area of at least 5,382 square feet. That's one knot. Now take the short end of the gold rope, and pull a little to give yourself more rope to work with.
We recently printed some shirts for the academy so we were intrigued when we noticed the back print read 'I survived'.
Take that lengthened gold rope and repeat the earlier steps, only wind the gold rope in the opposite direction than you'd wound the blue rope. How hard could this academy be?We caught up with instructor Donald Fletcher to find out what happened on their most recent trip to the wilderness.

So if you started winding the blue rope by moving it over the gold rope, take the blue rope and start winding it by moving it under the blue rope. After you've created and tightened the second knot, pull each rope's main ends (not the short ends by the knots), and the two knots will slide together. Fortunately for them the dawn wake-up the next day was to a clear sky and very little wind, the perfect weather for an early morning run and swim in the river. The day continued with outdoor lectures after breakfast, and everyone enjoyed the spectacular scenery up the mountain in the afternoon.
The water underfoot made the different abseiling and descending techniques more challenging but everyone had a great time and took some great photographs. The following morning the group enjoyed another dawn run, and moved to an overnight wilderness location to build their own shelter for the night.
Unfortunately the weather had changed dramatically again, and with visibility down to a few metres and the rain pouring, the team made an excellent shelter and enjoyed fresh venison over the fire.
On completion of the exercise, the team had learnt a massive amount, not only in terms of skills but about themselves as people.Find out more about the 5 day survival in the Highlands courseThe Bear Grylls Survival Academy has recently launched the Ultimate Team Building course, enabling colleagues, friends and co-workers to enjoy quality time away from the officeFind more on the survival academy & Bear Grylls himself on twitter, facebook and youtube.
