Through Deanna’s winning recipe, she shares a really easy and delicious technique for making a vegan pasta sauce. This was the perfect day for me to make and photograph this recipe, because I am currently staying at my sister’s apartment in Manhattan. Imagine a giant green oasis is tucked away behind the brick walls of a Village apartment building. In a large bowl, mix sugar and prepared egg replacer until creamy (it works best with an electric mixer)-add vanilla, then add vegetable oil.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean (be sure to let the cake adequately cool before frosting). Next is the recipe for the faux cream cheese frosting.  Once the cakes are cooled you can put a layer of frosting between the cakes, and then use the rest of the frosting to frost the top and the sides of the cake. All dishes are prepared to order by Ben and his kitchen using fresh natural ingredients, and techniques which preserve taste and nutritional value. Our friends Alissa and Drew had us over for dinner not too long ago and sent us home with some cookies.

After a bit of experimentation, I’ve finally put together what I believe is the best vegan pancake recipe – no banana required! I love making cashew cream sauces, but will have to try with carrots and maybe spinach next time. We left out the coconut, walnuts and raisins and added a little more applesauce – it was innnsane.
