Basic Survival skills are essential for any man, either to impress their wilderness date, or for real life emergencies. You don’t need to know how to rebuild a transmission (bonus points if you can), but every man needs to know how to change their oil, tires, brakes, and alternator should the need arise. Survival skills are not just things like the ability to rub two sticks together to make fire, but more complex ideas, such as how to withstand the days, weeks or even years of lonesomeness that come with being stranded somewhere that no one can find you.
The most basic skill that should be in your arsenal of knowledge is the ability to self motivate.
