ARK: Survival Evolved has been out for a little under a year now, and it has made a pretty big impression on the gaming community.
Like ORION: Prelude, Primal Carnage is a game where players engage in dinosaur-based combat.
Out of every other game in this article, I think that this game feels the most like ARK: Survival Evolved. Unlike Far Cry: Primal, Rust lets you have all different kinds of entirely unique experiences. When choosing a place to build your shelter, stay near a source of water if possible and avoid natural hazards like dead trees and cliffs. There's no snow in the jungle, but that won't stop us from showing you every possible shelter option. Being a sea creature, the Dunkleosteus is naturally found in the ocean surrounding The Island in ARK: Survival Evolved. Actually knocking out a Dunkleosteus can be a chore, since the creature’s bite is so powerful. The preferred taming food for the Dunkleosteus is Titanoboa Kibble, followed by Raw Prime Meat, Cooked Prime Meat, Raw Meat, and Cooked Meat. The good news is the time it takes to tame a Dunkleosteus with Raw Prime Meat isn’t terribly more than Kibble. Refer to the taming calculators at Survive Ark, DodoDex, or Crumplecorn for the exact amount of food and Narcotics needed for the level of Dunkleosteus you are attempting to tame.
The huge jaws are armored head of the Dunkleosteus makes it an extremely deadly underwater attack machine. There is really only one use for the Dunkleosteus, and that is as a mobile underwater tank. Shattered Planet is a Roguelike RPG with a randomly generated world and a whole bunch of things to discover.
For those of you unfamiliar with the term Roguelike, allow me to redirect you to the review of another roguelike game, Cardinal Quest 2.
Each map is randomly generated, filled with monsters, indigenous tribesmen, traps and a few items to pick up on the way. The monsters are mostly easy to deal with once you’ve leveled up your stats and taken a basic set of equipment with you, until the moment that they decide not to be and kill you in 1 or 2 hits. The tribesmen don’t do anything if you leave them alone, other than block your path annoyingly. Oh and from the square you teleport into each map, the floor turns progressively into Blight (Stuff that kills you if you step on it). Now you might have noticed I’ve written of many ways to lose health, but none to regain it. If you wanted to, there is the option of purchasing two skins for your character ($5 each), a bunch of pets to help you on the planet (5 for $3) or spending up to $100 for 7600 crystals for items that you’ll lose upon your imminent death. Frankly, while Shattered Planet is fun, free and fine for a quick look-see, I’d have to recommend giving this game a pass.

Universal Studios theme park has more than 40 rides, shows, and attractions, including the popular Shrek 4-D and the high-tech Revenge of the Mummy that hurtles guests through Egyptian tombs on a psychological thrill ride. ABOUT THE AUTHOR:Laura Sutherland is a widely acknowledged authority on family travel and has published several books on the topic, including Best Family Ski Vacations In North America and Tropical Family Vacations. In ARK: Survival Evolved, players find themselves on an island, and they run around and gather resources, research technologies, and build shelter with the intention of surviving as long as possible.
The genre was originally pioneered by games like Minecraft, and it has only become more and more popular as time has gone on.
The developers behind this game started with ORION: Dino Beatdown, which was widely considered one of the worst games of 2012. Sure, there are no dinosaurs, but you’re out here running around this majestic, beautiful open world with stone tools, evading these different, dangerous predators.
It shields you from the elements, hides you from wildlife intruders and provides the psychological comfort needed to remain calm and in control -- a survival necessity.
The parts of the ocean where they are most commonly found are along with western coast up to the northwest corner of the map and across the north. It is a little bigger than a Megalodon, so keep an eye out for the giant fish’s unique silhouette below you while swimming.

That means ARK Survivors will need to use a Crossbow and Tranq Arrow combination underwater, or find a way to kite it into a cave where a Longneck Rifle and Tranq Dart or Bow and Tranq Arrow can be used. The Titanoboa Kibble recipe requires a Titanoboa egg, 1 Longrass, 1 Cooked Meat Jerky, 2 Mejoberries, 3 Fiber, and 1 Waterskin.
Titanoboa eggs are notoriously annoying to obtain in ARK: Survival Evolved since the giant snakes cannot be tamed. It is one of the few creatures in ARK: Survival Evolved capable of destroying a stone structure, perfect for attacking underwater bases. Focus on Health, Melee Damage, and Stamina when leveling up with Movement Speed as a secondary focus.
It is a fairly large fish, covered head to tail in armored plates, with incredibly powerful jaws.
Its powerful jaws make short work of the stone and oil formations found throughout the oceanic depths. Its well-armored body protects it from many creatures, while its bite is strong enough to easily crush through chitinous shells. Read that, play it and you’ll figure out what I consider to be an extremely good roguelike game. Developed by Montreal-based Kitfox Games, Shattered Planet takes the structure of a game like Cardinal Quest 2, strips away the classes, most of the inventory, the well-constructed thematic level design and gives instead a single persistent character on a broken world.
The traps can actually be beneficial – you might find a cool weapon or a companion monster to follow you if you choose the correct option. Plus the fact that that shit grows outward as you walk, god forbid the path branches in two at the spawn point and you pick the wrong direction. You say it’s fine, kill yourself a few times, come back and find the correct colour to be the health one and you’re set? But there is no way to pick up extra yellow credits to upgrade your stats so good luck with that noise. Universal Studios Florida, which focuses on movie-based rides and behind-the-scenes displays, and Islands of Adventure, a theme park based on cartoon characters, which features thrill rides and wonderful play areas for young children. Younger kids particularly enjoy A Day in the Park with Barney and Fievel's Playland in Woody Woodpecker's Kidzone. Some favorites include the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, which combines 3-D action and dizzying special effects with a surprise drop into total darkness; and The Incredible Hulk coaster, which goes from 0 to 40 miles per hour in two seconds flat. Some users just generally feel like the development team isn’t quite as active as they could be. In my opinion, the only thing that separated ARK: Survival Evolved from its competitors early on was the use of dinosaurs as an enemy.
It was one of those games that YouTube Let’s Players bought with the intention of ripping on for twenty minutes straight. This game is a lot more difficult than some of the other games on this list, if only because the player has so many options, and so much to do. A length of rope and some ripped plastic sheeting or poncho can be of great use in the jungle. There is a huge time difference when going from Raw Prime Meat to Cooked Prime Meat, though. It tends to eat the islands’ water-dwelling crustaceans, as it is not fast enough to catch most of the smaller fish.
While harvesting, Dunkleosteus can handily defend its rider from all but the largest threats in the waters. Now I enjoy the fact my character can progress, have his base stats upgraded through time and playthroughs while discovering more and more objects through his exploration of the world. There are two equipment slots for a weapon and a hat to supplement your character’s stats, which can be picked up or bought randomly by spending green crystals on the space ship.
But upon death, you lose all your items, all but destroying the desire to spend 50 crystals per item so your guy can make it a little bit farther this time.
Shattered Planet, your devs at Kitfox need to work on your basic components before you’d be considered good. For me to recommend for people to play Shattered Planet, add in a basic healing item I can purchase and I’m happy. They took the criticism to heart, and they used it as motivation to create update after update, crafting the game into the hidden gem that it is today. I feel like I should say, this game is far from perfect. Games like God of War give us these insane, immersive boss fights, where it really feels like this monster that you’re fighting is as big and as dangerous as you would anticipate. The notion of flying around and taking down snipers as a pterodactyl sounds silly, but it somehow works.

You need to survive several different zombie waves, with nothing but your own instincts to guide you. You can’t have forge an alliance with someone who lives on the other side of the world. For a basic rain shelter, simply tie the poncho or plastic between four trees to form a canopy. After you build the frame, use branches, palm fronds and any other large leaves for your roof. That is the only goal, you see – trying to go from teleporter to teleporter, from random level to random level, all without dying.
Still, there’s a lot of content there, and the game has seen a lot of popularity over the last few months.
Each class of dinosaur comes with different stats and abilities, which makes fighting the individual dinosaurs a lot more interesting. You can’t stalk and kill a griefer who has been hassling everyone on the server all day long. You can fashion a tent shelter by running rope down the center of the poncho between two trees and staking the sides into the ground using sticks to create an A-frame. So best of luck finding a healing potion through all that crap, and then finding a second of that same exact colour! They can play in the If I Ran the Zoo water playground or enjoy a ride that transports them into the pages of The Cat in the Hat. I have managed to dig up a handful of games that exhibit certain traits and qualities that I think a fan of the original concept may appreciate. Combat is fun, multiplayer is relatively active and co-op is some of the best that I’ve experienced in an indie title. There are some cool little animations and attacks, but for the most part, you pick a big part of the dinosaur, you mash a button, you win.
The dark, barren setting contrasts with the more vibrant island that you find yourself living on in ARK.
I feel like, even though dinosaurs are a vital part of ARK’s identity, the player community is an even bigger one. Another simple lean-to shelter can be made by tying two opposite corners of the poncho to trees.
Every new excursion, you need to test every coloured solution to find their properties, likely killing yourself or dying from some other deathtrap before finding the health restorative.
I think that Primal Carnage kicks things up a notch, and makes dinosaur-human combat a lot more fun for both sides. The other end slants diagonally to the ground and can be secured with stick stakes or heavy rocks. This game involves a lot of build-up, a lot of preparation, and a lot of fast-paced action.
If you don’t mind playing single-player over multiplayer, I highly suggest that you give this game a closer look. This game feels a lot like Destiny to me, if Destiny took place entirely on a planet that was inhabited by dinosaurs. They’re ridiculously dedicated and passionate, and they work around-the-clock to ensure that this game is as successful as possible. You live out your life as a prehistoric hunter, using your abilities to tame wild animals to move up in the world. One of the first things that you talk about when you discuss this game is the vibrant, prehistoric-esque island setting. I like to think of Far Cry: Primal as like some weird Grand Theft Auto-type game that just happens to take place during the Mesolithic era. You start off as a nobody, and you use your abilities to rise to the top, dealing with all different kinds of drama and battles along the way. So ultimately, my decision came down to this: What is more important to people who play ARK?
Call me a bleeding heart, but I think that a lot of people will choose community over atmosphere, every time.
