The terms Survivalist and Prepper have been hijacked these days and are given very negative connotations across the mainstream media. CINS is a disease of unknown origin, with near simultaneous initial reports in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and North America. Most people believe that those three words, Survivalist, Prepper and Homesteader, mean the same thing.
They look at events or situations and try to think about what they need to make it through. Preppers work to pay off their debts, because it doesn’t make sense to try to work toward self reliance and still be a slave to debt. Many homesteaders create a small scale farm that will take care of themselves and their families.

Too many people buy into the public perception that a prepper and a survivalist are the same thing. Please be aware some of the sites we link you to could have pop ups and that we have no control over them. Of course you may not need all 8 of these firearms, and some may be substituted for others. If you have three preppers and survivalists in a room, you will more than likely get four different opinions when you start talking about what are the best guns!
To all the fans of the Glock pistols, this is blasphemy, as the Glocks have so much going for them. If economy was the only consideration, then a Hi-Point would be the recommendation, but it is not high quality enough for most preppers and survivalists to consider betting their lives on.
Okay, you’re not hunting deer or elephants as a prepper in anything like an urban or suburban environment, so an air rifle is perfect.
The other advantage of an air rifle is that it can give you a stand-off, non-lethal capability from your window for thugs and creeps who you’d like to persuade to stop messing with your car.

Though the scenarios of how an apocalyptic event would paralyze or destroy society varies, a group of like-minded individuals in East Pierce County believes a good defense is the best way to prepare for doomsday. My guess is that the 80-some dues-paying members are going to evaporate after the first one or two spring leaks caused by high-velocity lead projectiles. Remember the liberals will lie, cheat , steal, and throw grandma off the train to push their agenda, including posing these bottom feeders as preppers? They are doing a fantastic job doing just that….lol That Chunky monkey they have in this article would last maybe one mag before his moron a** took a dirt nap!
As a former active duty Marine, and from washington state these idiots above from buckley can come and try and take from my house. Good thing I was in an Infantry unit and had skillz to killz, because these yahoo’s from Buckley as someone very politely put it DEFINITELY DO NOT REPRESENT THE REST OF WASHINGTON STATE. Most of us at least have common sense to stock up on food and water (I have a 50 gpm well). Paying some moron, who thinks he is going to just take what he wants (Obama follower) is stupid. Yes, this guy is more likely to die from heart disease than anything else but I wouldn’t underestimate his ability to either accidental kill you and take your stuff or build a group of like minded people, some in better shape and have tactical skills, to raid your home and leave you and your family with NOTHING.
But the POINT in all this is, there are and will be those out there WHO PLAN to simply kill you and take what you have. So watch this episode and laugh at the fat loser, but if you learn ONE VALUABLE detail, whether planning, or tactical or simply human-nature-wise, then God Bless ya.
Your succession of one-liners left me laughing on the floor, you should be working a room in Vegas!
Just an easy target and he makes us look like fools when there are MASSES of us who will go to every effort to help our fellow man.
For all those in the Washington and Oregon region you might want to become more acquainted with Mr.
Yep if and when it goes down ( I really believe an EMP if not a blast from the sun ) it will be totally crazy. Looks like his FB page has been removed, and that the Washington Militia threw him out, as their site says he’s no longer a member. Nat Geo really does go out of their way to find a certain demographic to showcase in order to fit their agenda, and they have one. He is the first one the gov will come after if some thing happens, I wouldnt be suprised if he gets rounded up in the near future just for being a threat like this to the public.
Prepping is about living through the crisis, not getting shot to death by actual preppers who will be watching for this kind of thing.
The King County Sheriff's Office on Friday located the bunker that Peter Keller is believed to have been hiding in.

Deputies believe the person heard earlier in the bunker, suspected to be Peter Keller, is still inside.
One SWAT team member reported seeing what appeared to be a portable generator inside the bunker. When King County sheriff’s deputies searched the North Bend home of shooting suspect Peter Keller earlier this week, they found more than just photos of the bunker on Rattlesnake Ridge.
Witnesses had reported seeing Keller’s red truck near a trailhead in recent weeks, according to sheriff’s spokeswoman Sgt. Thus far, searchers have fired tear gas at the bunker, but it doesn’t appear to have penetrated inside, West said. With eight years of planning and construction going into it, Strachan said, deputies are prepared for a long siege. Nearly three dozen SWAT team members are now surrounding the bunker believed to have been built by shooting suspect Peter Keller.
King County sheriff’s deputies have found a makeshift bunker on Rattlesnake Ridge they say was built by a North Bend-area man wanted in connection with the shooting deaths of his wife and daughter last weekend.
Deputies have heard sounds coming from inside the bunker and believe the suspect, Peter Keller, is inside. The bunker is located in a hillside near the Rattlesnake Ridge Trail outside of North Bend.
Deputies have spent much of the day searching the Rattlesnake Ridge area, one of several spots known to be frequented by Keller, an avid outdoorsman. Investigators had said Keller was a survivalist and might be hiding out in a fort or bunker stockpiled with weapons, food and other gear. Their bodies were discovered by firefighters who responded to a blaze in the home Sunday morning. Keller, 41, was charged Wednesday with two counts of first-degree murder and a single count of arson in King County Superior Court. One of Keller’s co-workers told detectives Keller owned handguns, high-caliber rifles, scopes, silencers and body armor. The CINS outbreak has followed the pattern recently exhibited by pandemics including SARS and MERS. Homesteaders see that, in the long run, the best way to be prepared is to be able to be self sufficient.
They work towards creating a sense of community, because it ensures their chances of survival. The print version of this huge, comprehensive canning book costs $20 plus S&H, but you can click the links below and get a PDF version for free! However, we will never link you to a site that requires you to make any purchase or join anything to view the article.
Most of my articles will probably be based on medical needs and prepping techniques, but you never know, I may surprise you every now and then.
That being said, there are some things that most all of the preppers and survivalists will agree on, and the first one is that you must have firearms for personal protection.
However, for about $200 less than a Glock, this Ruger is a fine, American-made weapon that every will agree is reliable enough to bet your life on. I like the price (there I go with economy again!) but this has other things going for it as well. Getting one with a velocity of about 1000 feet per second will enable you to easily harvest raccoons and rabbits as well as squirrels, so your dinner pot won’t have to be empty.
Having a non-lethal capability is very important, because the overwhelming majority of the time, we do NOT want to kill someone. Smith started the survivalist group Spartan Survival to protect his family from a doomsday event.
The show is produced by a sham company out of New York who is only interested in entertaining people and selling slots.
Bring that tub of lard here (If he even dreamed of making it that far) He’s so lard coated Ray Charles could hit the 10 ring all day on him. Lord knows he would last a while however… Try that body armor with a .308 and call it a wrap.
Cindi West says deputies plan to wait out the occupant of the bunker for as long as it takes.
Cindi West says deputies haven’t heard any noise coming from inside the bunker for quite some time.
The SWAT members have set up a perimeter, but the situation could take hours to play out since there is concern that Keller may be waiting for deputies to approach the bunker, according to King County Sheriff Steve Strachan. The situation could take hours to play out since there is concern that Keller, who may be heavily armed, may be waiting for deputies to approach the bunker, according to Sheriff Steve Strachan. It is reported by the news staff of The Seattle Times and includes stories from The Associated Press and McClatchy-Tribune Information Services. At their most basic level, a survivalist simply someone who is determined to live through any circumstances and not be a victim.
They are three very different and distinct groups of people, with different skill sets and outlooks. While many survivalists like to go out on their own, most understand the need for having a group of like minded people around them. For instance, they will learn how to go into the woods and survive with as little as they possibly can.

At this point they begin to tell friends and family what they have learned and what they are doing to make sure they are ready. Mainly that they both accept self responsibility in a crisis scenario and they both do prepare for a day when that crisis will strike.
While you’re here, if you have a bit of time, check out some of the other posts, you may find them interesting! In this revealing video an experienced prepper explains which ones he owns and why, and shows you 8 that you may want to consider. Go ahead and watch the video now, and let us know if you agree, or disagree with this prepper has to say. The Russian SKS rifles (superior to the Chinese) are more rugged than an AK47 and have a bayonet permanently fixed, which is easy to extend. Also, there are detachable magazines modified for the SKS if you wish, and if your state allows this as a legal modification. We actually wrote an article that touches upon the topic of compromises you have to make when choosing a gun. Of course stupid TV channels missed an opportunity to use this song on more than a few ( National Geographic ) documentary’s.
It inititally looked like a photo of trees, but once it was enhanced detectives could see the North Bend Premium Outlets mall in the background.
Once infected, a patient gradually loses conscious control of their motor skills and mental ability.
They learn how to defend themselves in bad situations and gather as many skill sets as possible. Both fully intend to survive with as little outside help as possible and both expect that they are not so special that mother nature will blithely skip over their homes when she wreaks havoc on the landscape around you. He is one of those people that will let the others do the work then rush in to grab and take credit. Even if someone was defending their survival cache with a 12 gauge, they would least use slugs. The patient will become highly aggressive and delusional, but will be completely unaware that they are infected.
Many survivalists have military experience, meaning they learned some survival skills already.
This usually results in massive studying and searching the internet trying to understand what they are feeling. Note that the guy you are all slamming (I have not seen the show) is probably a republican. Also the moral magnitude of hiking ( or biking ) to get to my elderly mother about 45 miles away. Bet it doesn’t happen in the spring, rather it will happen the week after Thanksgiving. They will succumb to paranoia and will believe with certainty that all others are infected. To date no policy enacted by the World Health Organization has managed to stem the rapid spread of the disease. I never get this wound up but this pile of retarded shit is really under my skin… I could do one-liners all day on this idiot- so much material to work with…. They look around and realize that they are suddenly a minority, a small group of people that know and are getting prepared for the inevitability of a true SHTF scenario. They begin to test themselves with scenarios, and explore and check their stores to make sure they are as close to being self reliant as possible.
I was further taught that if you can’t pay your bills you can’t afford to play! I could go on and on but all I am saying is that we could fix it,build it,and grow it because we were taught to take care of ourselves. So sad people think this is not normal, but the government rushing in to to save them is. Go out into the woods and share what we are losing ( or what is being taken away) My 4th son is only 4 aND KNOWS MORE ABOUT SURVIVING THAN MY ADULT NEIGHBORS. I have been interested in this sort of topic since I was about eight or nine years old, from when I experienced a major flood in my hometown. Although I wasn’t fully aware of everything, I made emergency kits, and saved cans of soup.
I plan ahead in almost everything I do, and try not to allow myself to get distracted by unnecessary things like binge drinking or raving, whatever today’s young adults seem to be into. But I also believe that the internet is a very important asset while it is still available to us.
Think of all the money I wouldn’t have been able to save if I had to buy a book to learn it all! All bags include the dynamo flashlights (no batteries needed) a 1qt canteen, fishing gear, paracord, tools, first aid kits, maps, compass, whistles, instant reusable heat packs (you boil them after they’ve cooled to turn the crystals back into liquid), mess kits, emergency blankets, multiple ways to make fire (minus baby girls pack), etc. I am 24 years of age and I really only use the Internet to purchase items and books for cheaper than you can find at a local store or in a catalog if you can even find it there. I am a fan of books and I think that they offer a more tangible grasp of concepts that are more concrete than the freely floating unreferenced information that is on the Internet today. I would personally rather live in a cabin with my lovely lady in the middle of the woods with as many books as I could pack into it than spend one day in the city with nothing but a laptop to keep me company….
Its good to have a stockade just in case the situation calls for it but if whit hits the fan and you need to bug out then what choice are you really left with. In my mind there is not much difference between the two as far as vocabulary goes, a prepper stocks up to survive.
