Upon enrolling please check the website for important updates and student announcements prior to class.
This course is intended to serve as an educational resource for those involved in activities that take them beyond the scope of traditional urban emergency medical services.
Learn the Emergency Action Steps For First Aid Response to be employed when EMS is not readily available.
Experience providing wilderness first aid through the means of scenarios and simulated rescues that test knowledge and skills.

This course will be conducted both in a classroom setting and participation in outdoor practice scenarios. We are one of the primary wildland firefighting training groups for northern Puget Sound, providing wildland courses for numerous agencies. Affiliated with Emergency Medical Training Associates, we also provide first response medical training for a multitude of businesses and organizations. In these cases, emergency care is delayed until help can be notified and rescuers can reach the intended patient or the patient is evacuated to safety. Upon completion of the components of the Wilderness First Aid course participants will receive the ECSI Wilderness and Remote First Aid certificate with a certification period of two years. This will be a fast paced intense learning situation recommended for adults or mature youth at least 14 years old by the first day of class.

Clientele include fire departments and personnel from Skagit, Snohomish, Island, San Juan, and Whatcom counties as well as NW Region WA DNR and the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Our instructors are American Heart Association certified providing the most up to date training in life saving skills. This course helps provide the knowledge and skills neccessary to deal with these emergencies until more advanced care can be provided.
With a cadre of 8-12 highly experienced instructors our organization provides regional wildland firefighting training and much more.
