The holidays are here and unless you’re travelling, you may have some free time on your hands. Our book, The One Year Urban Survival Plan, tells you exactly how to prepare for a major disaster in the city or suburbs.
Awesome round-up, and great to see the low-budget-but-surprisingly-awesome Survivors get some love! I am really grateful to the owner of this web page who has shared this fantastic paragraph at here. I watched The Colony about a year ago, and then searched for it recently and it was no longer there.
1st show not realistic at all… what are the chances that a small group of people would have those backgrounds. I don’t want to give away any spoilers, so I will just say their skill sets sucked compared to season 1. There many great movies and documentaries I could have included as well, but the list would have been too long.
They show a wonderful example of how to build a canoe to cross the river and how to build traps they have been using for generations. They also show how to make cross country skis and they teach the importance of building these things the right way.
It’s a very informative film if you expect to be in the wilderness, to go hunting or trapping, or anticipate cold weather. These anime focus on chefs and cooks striving to be the best they can be in the kitchen, who will stop at nothing to make the most delicious food possible.
The shows on this list are all about food, but they vary in what they specifically focus on. On the other hand, there is Antique Bakery, where the four main characters create various breads in their bakery.
Other shows are more broad, such as Cooking Master Boy, which tells the story of a boy who wants to be a chef that is talented in all areas of the kitchen. No matter what kind of food you're into, if you love cooking and anime, these are must-watch series for you! Vote for the ones you liked the best, and if you haven't seen all of these, then use this list as a guide in figuring out which series you should check out first.

Also please add any cooking anime that are missing from the list if one of your favorites isn't here. Falling Skies – This sci-fi series is set in a post-apocalyptic world where extraterrestrials have invaded Earth and killed most of the population. Through interviews and dramatic reenactments, we learn about the endurance and decisions of survivors who got through scenarios like being shipwrecked, lost at sea, trapped under a boulder, and more. Jeremiah – In a post-apocalyptic future, nearly everyone over 13 has been killed by a deadly virus. This may not be the most popular genre of Japanese animation, but all of these shows are worth checking out if you're looking for something new to watch.
This poll includes video clips of each show, so if you haven't seen one you can watch it right here on this page. Jericho – This series follows the residents of a small town in Kansas after the largest cities in the United States have been destroyed by nuclear missiles. You're gonna want to get out and hit that big diamond once you're done with all the anime on this list. Since they have no power or communication with the outside world, they have to manage with limited resources while trying to figure out what has happened. The shows that are listed may have different sub-genres, but they're all anime about baseball in one way or another.
It has been adapted into an anime TV series, animated by A-1 Pictures, which premiered in Japan on TBS. Each episode covers a different type of weapon such machine guns, blades, rockets, and more.
It has been made into an 41-episode anime series and an 11-episode television drama series, H2: Kimi to Ita Hibi, directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi.more see more on H2> 25 + Something missing? He teaches you how to construct a shelter, forage for food, build a fire, and generally survive until you can reach civilization. Unfortunately, he makes a lot of foolhardy decisions in order to increase the entertainment value. Man, Woman, Wild – A husband-and-wife team attempt to survive inhospitable environments around the world with only a few supplies. There aren't many anime shows and movies that strictly focus on zombies, which is surprising because people have such a fascination with the genre.

Each volunteer has the option to summon a rescue team if they want to quit the experiment, and most of them do. However, the zombie animes that do exist are great, with amazing titles like Highschool of the Dead and 2014's anime Tokyo Ghoul. We've included the first episode of each show to watch below when available, so you can watch really good zombie anime series right here on this page and find ones that you like. Storm Chasers – Meteorologists visit Tornado Alley in order to study twisters and capture them on video. At times it is very suspenseful and instills a sense of awe at the power of these deadly phenomena.
Filmmaker and survival expert Les Stroud ventures into the wilderness completely alone with just a few supplies and his camera. Although there is a support team monitoring him from a distance, he manages to survive on his own for at least a week and teaches viewers exactly how he does it. The show follows a specific group of people who encounter many obstacles, the worst of which are other people. The Colony – This reality show follows 10 volunteers with various skills and backgrounds who are placed in a simulated post-apocalyptic environment and asked to rebuild civilization. In fact, there are several things that get on my nerves: They seem to have a never-ending supply of canned food, vehicles that have been abandoned for over a year run just fine, and even though zombies stagger along slowly no one can outrun them. Top Shot – A reality show with 16 contestants who compete in various shooting challenges using everything from bows to rifles. Top Sniper – A documentary series about the annual International Sniper Competition in Fort Benning, Georgia. They have to compete in simulated war conditions and display multiple skills including camouflage, stalking, and urban combat.
