The tarp will take up the most room in your backpack but is the most important item to combat even the worst weather conditions. Funnel Rainwater – Place the tarp on a decline slope to help funnel rain into a container.
Where do we start?  Duct tape has unlimited uses for repairing, building, setting traps and much more. Blinding – The powerful LED lights can temporarily blind people andstun animals when hunting. You may want a large blade with a saw edge or a Swiss Army knife with multiple tools to use in different situations.  If you have the spare room in your backpack, bring both.
Sharpening – Use your knife to sharpen the edge of a stick to create a wooden spear, dagger, or even arrows.
Multiple Tools – A Swiss Army Knife covers a wide variety of useful tools for opening cans, removing splinters, and much more.
Saw Edge – A knife with a saw edge on the other side of the blade is useful for sawing branches to make a variety of things. Paracord is extremely durable and can hold up to 550 pounds.  Its length offers multiple uses.

Cleansing – Taking care of your personal hygiene is refreshing and helps you stay healthy. Hydration – If you have a limited supply of fresh water, only use it for keeping yourself hydrated. We can survive about three weeks without eating food.  Not eating will cause fatigue, so make sure you use your energy wisely if you are low on supplies. Fishing – Use some food as bait for fishing, then use the fish for baiting a trap to catch something bigger. Vitamins – Try to eat a variety of foods to help boost your immune system and keep you healthy. A small first aid kit can save room while still providing necessary items like antiseptic wipes, antibiotics, aspirin, bandages and gauze. Antiseptic – Continue to practice good habits like cleaning your hands or silverware before eating.
If you want to carry a heavy machine gun, go right ahead, but a pistol is light weight and easily concealed.
Offense – The pistol is a lightweight firearm that can kill any person or zombie that poses a threat.
