Unfortunately, we snapped the top portion of a bamboo where the poles slide inside each other when we were taking it down. The final design had us putting pins through the bamboo at the connectors to hold it in place, but after we realized how fragile it is… we are opting to secure the peices in place using twine the day of.
I haven't checked this lately but I actually found 6, 6 foot bamboo poles, they're thick and when tied as a tri-pod heavy enough to stand against some mild wind. Finish off the floral decor by placing masses of hydrangeas into the metal buckets around the base of the arbour.

I was going to make an arch for my April 2012 wedding but maybe I’ll buy one of yours if you are still selling it! I was inspired to create something out the bamboo and so I looked on Hometalk and found that people were asking what to do with bamboo that they had cut down. The aim is to build an arch that is beautiful, simple, easy to construct and strong enough to carry the adorning flowers and ferns.
There is an upgraded option I like but it's an extra $300 and if I can make and transport something for less I would like to try.

Make sure the eye of the needle is big enough to thread string through.  Needles can be purchased from haberdashery or craft stores. You may have to tighten the rope after it dries in a month and the bamboo will last a very long time.
