Summitt brought along 5-4 guard Lea Henry (Damascus, Ga.) and for the second time, Cindy Noble. Back on home turf, Team USA wasted no time in Olympic competition, knocking off all eight competitors to bring the gold medal back home again with a championship win over Brazil, 111-87. Tennessee?s head coach, Pat Head, was selected as an assistant coach for the 1980 Olympic squad. Nancy Darsch, then the Lady Vol assistant coach, also made the trip serving as an assistant Olympic coach.
