I think the most important advice I would give someone is that if you are trying to lose weight, be sure to have a higher purpose. I’ve maintained my 125+ pound weight loss for the last 6 years with a lot of ups and downs. I didn’t think much about healthy eating (or my weight in general, really) until I was fat and sick.
Now that my back is almost healed, I can look forward to strengthening myself and doing some mild exercising.


If I didn’t focus on portions or calories, the weight came back on (even with exercise), because I was an emotional eater. I’ve eaten whole foods 10 months now and I have not gained any weight nor have I lost any weight.
After a year on a plant-based diet, not feeling much better than before and still with some weigh to lose, I decided to do something even more drastic. I have battled my weight since I was a kid and now I see my 6 year old daughter getting cellulite in her tummy area.
