Weight Gained: 0 pounds (blows my mind because I swear I gained at least a pound in my boobs. When I was pregnant I felt like you, never threw up but felt like it and had many food aversions.
Mine wasn’t as severe as yours but I had the same nausea with no throwing up for the first trimester. Something that really helped me, but may sound a little strange is Jolly Rancher hard candies. This is definitely an exciting time, but it is also challenging as your body will betray you a LOT throughout (heartburn, constipation, you name it!!).
I’m 14 weeks right now and have just started running again after taking some time off starting around 7 weeks. At the end of the week nausea started to ease up in intensity, but frequency was still there. I was just so tired for the past month or so that I didn’t have the energy to run, but it’s feeling good right now and I plan to keep it up as long as I can!

The heart has divided into four chambers and the placenta is formed and ready to do its big work of producing specific hormones for your pregnancy. Usually the “big ultrasound”, otherwise known as the anatomy scan, isn’t until around the 20th week of your pregnancy.
Suddenly everyone has an opinion and everyone is an expert on what you should and shouldn’t do, and how you should go about it.
You may be one of the unlucky that end up with nausea or exhaustion for all 9 months of your pregnancy. He may be worried about money, if your home is ready for a baby, or if your relationship will change. If you’re having a rough day (or week or month) and those darn unwanted pregnancy symptoms try and ruin all your fun, just keep in mind that your body was made to do this.
I actually did really well with controlling my weight during the second trimester and was able to accomplish a lot in both our house and at work. I’ve been doing everything I can to try and get this little rascal to come on out (lots of pineapple, walking, dancing and even acupuncture and acupressure) but nothing seems to be working So for now I’m trying to be patient and rest up for the big day that I finally get to meet my precious daughter!

If you haven’t already, you may be preparing for your first prenatal visit with your health care provider. You’re probably feeling extra bloated and maybe a bit lethargic, but remember that this is mainly due to the hormones that are floating around in your system. At just an inch long, your baby still weighs around three grams, about the same as during the eighth week of pregnancy. This will help you get out of the house, and talking to other moms-to-be will help you cope with the feelings you are experiencing. I went to the doctor for the first time at 5.5 weeks to confirm the pregnancy, and I had my first ultrasound. I went to bed early every night, napped after every race for two hours, and was just generally in a bad mood because I felt so bad. I am not pregnant but I do plan to run and stay as active as possible if I ever am pregnant. I was nauseated with my first (a girl), but nothing too bad, then with this pregnancy (also a girl!), I was sick until about week 18. Your pregnancy symptoms may have started to decrease, leaving you feeling a bit more like yourself.
While 9 weeks pregnant, pregnancy symptoms that have been with you this whole time are common. You may feel like crying at the drop of a hat, you may be finding yourself feeling depressed, and you may even be doubting your ability to be a good mother. Some women say that between the vomiting, the exhaustion and the all over the place emotions, the first trimester of pregnancy feels like the most pregnant they ever felt the whole 9 months. I had a very difficult time getting it through my head that being pregnant meant I couldn’t live my life the same way I did prior to getting pregnant and have truly struggled with the weight gain.
While I don’t enjoy throwing up, I would have much rather thrown up and been able to move on with my day versus being nauseous 80% of the day with no relief, not to mention I was having to eat constantly to try and get relief which caused me to gain extra weight during the first trimester (something I had a very difficult time with).
While after being treated for anemia I did get my energy back, but that became the least of my problems. I am a diyaholic with more projects than I can count, a working mom with a toddler that loves to dance, sing and get in the middle of whatever project mommy is working on. To make things easier for your doctor, you may want to write down some things about yourself, including medications, exercise habits, eating habits, and medical history.
You may be noticing weight gain, but it’s likely more due to water retention than the baby. These support groups can be found on the Internet, and they exist in nearly every town or city.
The way you are feeling right now is completely normal, even though it’s probably anything but normal for you. Instead of boring you with how every week has been so far, since my “bump” hasn’t changed that much, I am combing weeks 7-11 into one post, then tomorrow week 12 will get it’s own post and so forth. It was just the sac at that point, and I don’t even have pictures, but I was definitely pregnant, with a due date of September 30.
I felt very defeated and like it would never end, and wanted to punch anyone in the face who ever said they “loved” being pregnant. Eating was no fun, I wanted to enjoy my favorite Disney foods but couldn’t stomach most of them. Same symptoms still there, with the added bonus of breaking out all over my face and shoulders. I wasn’t able to keep exercising, but I had a high risk pregnancy so that played into that as well.
So pretty much for two months straight I was vomiting on a daily basis and usually at the most unpredictable times. I remember breaking down in tears a couple times just wanting the queasiness to subside for even just a few minutes. Or, maybe you’re starting to feel like your body is taking over and you’d better get out of its way.Your last week in the single digits.
Try coming up with a couple polite one liners that you can repeat each time someone offers “advice” or criticisms. While these feelings are common, this is one of the pregnancy symptoms that should not be ignored.
It’s important that you get more calories than usual, and if your pre-pregnant self was in the habit of carefully monitoring your caloric intake, this may feel a little funny. So, get some rest, enjoy some cuddles on the couch with your sweetie and get ready for the double digits! Many women experience severe mood swings and other pregnancy symptoms during this week, but again, this is due to the hormones (especially progesterone) in your system. There are also professionals who deal specifically with pregnant women and can help calm your emotions and help your spouse or partner cope as well.
Talking with others, especially your partner, will help everyone understand what is going on.


I am going to recap the first weeks, please note, I realize they sound SO depressing, but that’s truly how I felt.
Still bloated and such, but symptoms seem to be “calming down” all around if that makes sense.
Im a nurse and I have taken it myself and given it many times and its a miracle drug for nausea! If you haven’t already, have a serious talk with your doctor about the pregnancy symptoms that are making your day-to-day routine tough. Your doctor or midwife should let you know by the time you are 9 weeks pregnant what your ideal weight gain should be. It could be dinner and a movie, or it could just be watching a movie at home and ordering Chinese food. This wasn’t a constant pain (thankfully) but it was pretty prominent and would last about 40-50% of the day. Some of the pregnancy symptoms that are still present — such as aches and pains, bloating, and fatigue — will last throughout your pregnancy. I felt like I had been hit by a truck and the days seemed to drag on, I just wanted to get to week 13 so badly in hopes it would ease up.
He started to feel bad because he would walk in the room and I would dart for the bathroom (if it was in reach) or grab a trash can if the bathroom was too far away. The problem was there wasn’t anything at all I could do to get relief I just had to wait it out. The tail that was once there should have disappeared by now, and the organs and muscles should be functioning on their own. For three weeks I basically lived on baked potatoes, bagels, popcorn, saltines, and ginger ale.
Don’t get me wrong I still had some fun moments with my family, it was just a very different trip then usual. I still don’t feel myself and get tired easily, but at the same time if felt good to do something active and I was super proud of myself.
I was nauseous no matter what and even threw up a few times…which never helped me feel any better. I remember sitting on the toilet to pee and having to puke at the same time so I leaned over to (sort of) reach the sink. This lasted for about 2-3 weeks then Riley decided to switch sides so I was finally able to get relief.
His or her eyelids will fuse together, or shut, and will reopen again during the 27th week of pregnancy. I also feel so blessed to be pregnant even though I am complaining about my symptoms, I know this is just part of it, but definitely not a fun part. We had another appointment, and the doctor couldn’t hear the heartbeat with the Doppler. Dealing with pregnancy symptoms day after day is difficult, especially when you’d really like to feel better and get to actually enjoy your pregnancy.
It’s important to make healthy choices, but it’s just as important to make sure you are OK with your body, ahem, expanding. I may have freaked a little, so we did an ultrasound and got to see baby doing a jig in my belly.
Well that was just the beginning about 2 weeks after the pain around my belly button ceased I started getting this sharp pain on my right side that went from my lower back through my butt, hip and around my upper thigh.
This pain progressively got worse, so I went to the doctor and found out I had chronic SI joint pain. Your baby’s heart should also have divided into four separate chambers, and will be pumping rapidly (this is normal).
I did have two more pregnancies after that one and they all came with some degree of morning sickness, but they did seem to get less with each one…either that or I just got really good at learning my triggers.
The OB suggested I go to a physical therapist so I did and it was a nightmare, the PT caused me to overwork my SI joint causing it to have extreme inflammation making it virtually impossible to walk at all. This was a nightmare, I literally cried daily and just kept praying for the pain to go away, well a friend of mine told me a good friend of hers had the same problem and she went to a chiropractor and said he was amazing, so I thought, what the heck, at this point I didn’t have any other options and let me just say, that was the answer to my prayers, this chiropractor, Dr. He told me the SI Joint pain I was experiencing on my right side was a result of the left side of my pelvic bone, somehow it was completely locked up and wasn’t moving at all, so my right side was overcompensating causing it to become extremely inflamed, so he realigned my spine and left side (not sure really exactly what he did) but I could tell a difference that day and after 3 treatments I was walking normal again.
