International House was a vivacious and dedicated Christian community committed to social justice. Student-founded in 1963, International House thrived to not only affect the immediate environment around them, but also extended their hand by crossing over international borders. International House was involved in social and governmental reform, war protests, and overnight stays at homeless shelters. International House was the first to cross international boundaries and coordinate service trips called “Alternative Breaks,” which brought hard work and valuable effort to communities in need. Despite International House disbanding in the 1990’s, its groundbreaking service projects and motivational energy have influenced Le Moyne’s current acts of social justice.
