History of Service at Le Moyne

Service has been an integral part of the rich history at Le Moyne College. With a deep-rooted practice based within Jesuit tradition, service was established early on in Le Moyne’s history.  Many Le Moyne students- both past and present- took the initiative with their service works through self-started clubs and service projects . These acts and organizations have been largely successful in bettering the lives of others both in the community and around the globe.

Sodality
After Le Moyne College was founded in 1946, the
Sodality group found its way into population only a year
later. Sodality began the Jesuit volunteer movement at Le Moyne that is seen as so much apart of its historical nature today.  Sodality worked within the community, planning food drives, pep rallys, and tree planting, but also traveled beyond the restrictions of Le Moyne to reach out to those suffering within American society.
