March 30, 2015 By Jenn Lifford 33 Comments We are in the last few days of March and I am realizing that I am not going to quite get through everything on my to-do list for this month’s Household Organization Diet. The biggest thing that has slowed down my progress this month is working on our family binder. If you are just getting started on this family binder series with me, I would recommend that you start with this post on how to organize your bills.
First you need to download the printables, save them to your computer, and then print them out. If you are not exactly sure what you spend each month {and since spending can vary from month to month}, you may want to keep a more detailed analysis of what you are spending over a 3-6 month period {you can use the monthly tracker for this}. Once you have developed your budget, review it on a monthly basis to see if you are staying on track. I downloaded the blank budget at a glance with the intent of printing it out and handwriting on it for our family binder. As a college student that has been living on her own for the past two thankful for these budgeting sheets! You will be tracking your spending over the course of time and will have to learn what you need to cut back on to achieve your goal. This will allow you to focus on what you need to be spending your money on each month like bills, utilities, necessities, etc.
Obviously you cannot change your mortgage or other monthly payments, but maybe you can save on your groceries or entertainment. Frugal Fanatic is her place to share practical ways to save money, make money and tips for everyday life. You may also click the Estimated Financial Aid Budget link to view the breakdown of costs associated with the budget. All the nights out, fast food dinners, and impulse buys were leaving me baffled at the end of each month as to where all my money had gone.
My husband and I have struggled to transparently and simply keep track of our income and expenses.

Another great way to cut costs is by eliminating your cable and internet or going to a cheaper plan.
This doesna€™t mean we cannot do any of these things anymore it just meant we had to keep it to a minimum. The best way of doing this is by taking out a certain amount of cash so that you cannot go over your allotted amount. The best part of how to make a budget is that you can alter it to fit your familya€™s needs. Find out how you can make money shopping online or how to start a blog to start earning cash from home now! You can either use the prepared form to give you an idea of what to track or use the blank form if you would like to customize it more to your own needs. Currently, we use mobile apps to keep track of our budgets but sometimes it’s great to have things written out too.
These budgeting sheets are specific enough for every expense I may have (I love the blank spaces), as well as financial goals I hope to achieve each month. Below you will find out exactly how to make a budget as well as ways to help you save money.
To make it easier I have a monthly budget spreadsheet that you can download and edit to fit your life. Doing this will help you to learn what your a€?necessary expensesa€™ are in a given period of time.
