Most people tend to think about foot care only during the summer months, when flip-flops and trendy stilettos are in season. Many people don't like to admit they're suffering, but 80 percent of Americans are affected by lower body pain, and it's preventing them from being active and doing the things they love. Many sufferers can find foot-pain relief simply by using specially designed insoles called orthotics, an effective and inexpensive solution for certain types of knee and lower back pain. Stretching is a key way to decrease joint stiffness and maintain or improve range of motion. Among its many benefits, exercise strengthens the muscles around your joints, helps maintain bone strength and gives you more energy to get through the day. Being overweight, even just moderately, puts stress on your joints, which can increase foot pain. Now there is Peripheral Neuropathy Pain relief provided exclusively to the Southwest Riverside County area by Optimum Healthcare, we are located in Hemet, CA. Relying on 10-15 years of scientific research, light therapy has been shown to stimulate the nerves causing pain.
We will do an extensive evaluation to determine the type of Neuropathy you have so that you may obtain the relief you want and need.
Peripheral neuropathy refers to the conditions that result when nerves that connect to the brain and spinal cord from the rest of the body are damaged or diseased, usually the lower legs and feet or the wrists and hands.
Damage to these nerves interrupts communication between the brain and other parts of the body and can impair muscle movement, prevent normal sensation in the arms and legs, and cause pain. If you have diabetes and peripheral neuropathy, it’s critical that you carefully control your blood sugar levels. Traditional treatments such as anticonvulsant drugs (Neurontin, Gabapentin, Lyrica) and opiates (vicodin, hydrocodone, oxycontin) have little effect on the problem. Physical Therapy works on the muscles and joints and can have a negative effect since the problem is not due to weak muscles or improperly moving joints, which still leaves the neuropathy problem. In camp we move in all 3 planes of motion so the feet are constantly working to stabilize your body. Your feet could be sliding around in your shoes, which causes friction and forces you to constantly contract your foot to keep your balance.

Invest in your feet, they need to carry you for a lifetime.  This might also mean getting out of your shoes for awhile. But sandals without good foot support can cause foot ailments, from tired, achy feet to more serious problems such as plantar fasciitis – painful inflammation usually felt on the underside of the heel. If this is you, don't be embarrassed or ashamed about your pain, and certainly don't let it go untreated. Stretching should be a part of your daily routine, and everyone can learn to stretch, regardless of age or flexibility. Pro-inflammatory foods (like sugars and starches) can cause inflammation and increase pain, while anti-inflammatory foods (like fruits and veggies) can have the opposite effect. Join a community where you can talk to other foot-pain sufferers and find support by learning from their experiences and sharing your story.
With the right treatment, managing lower body pain can get you on track to a more active lifestyle. We use a state-of-the art FDA cleared low level infrared light therapy that is completely drug-free, non-invasive, and painless. Many patents report being able to reduce or eliminate their neuropathy pain medications that can have many harmful side effects. We see in neuropathy patients that they have damage to the small vessels in the feet, this can lead to poor circulation, which also can lead to pain. Neuropathy can affect nerves that control muscle movement (motor nerves) and those that detect sensations such as coldness or pain (sensory nerves). High blood sugar levels over time damage the blood vessels and nerves in your legs and feet.
Smoking makes circulatory problems worse, and it worsens the symptoms of peripheral neuropathy. Alcohol can worsen peripheral neuropathy and make it hard to control your blood sugar levels. I think this is a good time to address this issue and give you some tips on how to mitigate the discomfort.
These tissues take much longer to strengthen than muscles most likely due to their lack of blood flow and nutrients. The shoes provide all the support and our feet are allowed to just sip pina coladas in their lounge chair.

Take your shoes off get the tennis ball out (or golf ball) and roll the bottom of the foot out. With the heel on the ground put the toe up on the wall and then drive the knee and hip forward keeping the leg fully extended.
What you may not realize is that other types of footwear can cause these same issues as well as problems with the knees, back and other joints.
Scholl's Arthritis Pain Relief Orthotics, which are clinically proven to provide immediate and all-day pain relief. A regular stretching routine can help lengthen your muscles and make daily activities easier.
We follow a clinically proven system that can provide pain relief and significantly reduce or eliminate severe neuropathy pain and inflammation.
Light Therapy Treatment allows water oxygen and nutrients to be drawn back into the damaged cells. Hence when the drugs are stopped or taken for long periods the problem simply returns and can sometimes worsen.
With the new exercises we are temporarily irritating these tissues and forcing them to stabilize.  They will heal back stronger but it takes longer. It is this stress that causes our muscles, tendons, and ligaments to adapt and grow stronger.
Each treatment builds on the previous one and paired with a comprehensive treatment program a difference can be felt in as little as 2-3 treatments. Often, people turn to counseling and drug therapy such as nicotine patches, gum, or other aides. Your next pair of shoes should be a cross trainer or something that gives some lateral support. Antidepressants can also help reduce cravings and help control pain from neuropathy at the same time.
