LinkedIn has announced new functionality for its service on mobile, giving users the chance to apply for jobs directly from their iOS or Android devices. Using this new search system, users can search for jobs across thousands of different opportunities, and save those jobs for later viewing or apply directly on the app.
According to LinkedIn’s Vaibhav Goel (as reported by Social Times), over 30 percent of LinkedIn’s users who view jobs on the website have come from mobile. LinkedIn on Monday rolled out an update for iOS and Android which allows users to apply for open jobs directly from their mobile device. LinkedIn announced that the update was necessary as 30 percent of its member base now view jobs from their mobile phones and tablets.

Members grew tired of seeing jobs on their mobile device and then forgetting about them at a later time or failing to track them down when they remembers.
LinkedIn has been focusing much of its efforts on making it easier for users to connect with potential jobs.
The new mobile job application platform is available to English-speaking LinkedIn customers but it will roll out globally in the near future. This move comes after the addition of job and company searching to the mobile app, which was added in July.

Just like the LinkedIn Web portal users may be asked to submit applications directly through the platform or via a company’s website. Saved jobs and those users have applied to can be viewed from the app’s menu after the fact.
