Just 12 minutes from the
mainland with the public

Knarrholmen
is a tiny
island with its own two-day
music festival (
knarrholmen.com
).
Around 2,000 people
attended last year’s event,
camping out among the birch
trees and barbecuing on the
rocks. This year’s festival
runs 24-25 May, featuring
some of Sweden’s best DJs
and indie bands.

Gothenburg’s newly
refurbished indoor market,

is the place to
come for handmade cakes,
freshly baked buns and cuts of
Swedish sausage. A short walk
away on Rosenlundsvägen is

oysters. On 4 May, the
Nordic
Championships in Oyster

take place in the village
of Grebbestad, a 90-minute
drive north of Gothenburg.
