The Wielkopolska Region
A land of great history, lakes, rivers and forests, Wielkopolska has something for everyone

the oldest capital of Poland, where the first
Polish monarchs were crowned. Particular
noteworthy in Wielkopolska are the numerous
castles, palaces and mansions which today
hold charming hotels and unique museums. The
castles in Kórnik, Rydzyna and Gołuchów, the
palaces in Rogalin, Smiełów and Antonin, and
ielkopolska Region is a cradle of
Poland. Here, along the Piast Route
you can see the oldest archaeological
remnants dating from over 1000
years ago when the Polish State was emerging.
Poznan´, the region’s capital, holds graves of
the earliest monarchs from the Piast Dynasty,
and magnificent landmarks bearing witness
to the city’s fascinating history throughout the
